Q. I want to build a gaming computer, but when I looked online there were so many different kinds of parts, and I have no idea where to begin. So, how do I choose the parts I want? I'm looking for a pretty good computer that can run most games on highest settings (like Battlefield 3, Planetside 2, Skyrim, or Guild Wars 2) that's not too expensive, preferably under 800.
A. A motherboard with an Intel I7 8 core cpu is a start. Add 16 GB ram. Add an Asus GeForce GTX 560 Video card.........It's a great place to start. You can downgrade the 16gb ram, but stick with the rest.
Is buying a computer from a store better or customing your own gaming computer online?
Q. Is buying a computer from a store better or customing your own gaming computer online? I'd like to buy a new gaming computer in the range of $600-$800 total including shipping and tax already. I'd also like if you can help me customize a good gaming computer or just one already made. Thanks in advance
A. Buying from a store - not for gaming computers. Check Centaurus Computers - they are great when it comes to pricing, options, quality. They do free overclock - great boost to performance for free. I would recommend AMD based system cause in this range it will be more efficient (Cheaper :-)
Any Athlon II X3 or X4 or any Phenom II plus 4GB DDR3 RAM, and videocard - GT 240 or ATI 5670 at least I would say.
Write Centaurus and ask for recommendations if you are not sure.
Good luck
