Games Lists?

Q. Hi Guys,

I am the owner of some computer game playing shop in Bangalore, India. I have 4 HCL computers with High configuration.
I have connected all the computers through a 100 MBPS switch.
But i do not have good games to attract the customers..
please, could anybody help me out?

A. A great small selection of games in any internet cafe here in the U.S. includes

World of Warcraft
Counter-Strike
Warcraft 3 (With the Frozen Throne Expansion)
StarCraft (With the Brood War Expansion)
Team Foretress 2
Call of Duty 4

As long as you have a LAN connection all 4 computers will be able to interlink with each other.

World of Warcraft also requires the customer to own their own account, so you can install the client for free at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade/trial/splash.html

Suggest a computer configuration for a 10th grade student.?
Q. I want a desktop that i can use to store and edit videos from my handycam. Play the latest games. Edit and manage pictures.
I want it to be advanced enough, so that it can run latest softwares if not games for the next 3-4 years.
Processor: Intel Core 2 which one ?
Motherboard: You tell me, thinking of one with an Intel HD audio sound card and no graphics card.
RAM: Transcend Jet Ram, how much is 2.5 GB fine ?
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT

I only want the CPU, i already have everything else.
This is for India.
Please donot send me to sites like newegg etc.

A. core 2 due processores can handle almost everything for you but you might need core 2 quad for future game generation but at this time there is almost no game or program that core 2 due cannot handle so it should be enogh to build your new PC with that.

Intel core 2 due E8500 (6mb l2 cache running at 3.16 Ghz and 45 nanometer architecture)

or

Intel core 2 due E6850 (4mb l2 cache running at 3 Ghz with 65 nanometer architecture)

and not bad to take a look at Intel processores generally but I recommend E8*** series with 6mb l2 cache and 45 nanometer architecture they are good enough to do anything you want with that.

http://compare.intel.com/pcc/default.aspx?familyID=1&culture=en-US

and about the RAM yes 2.5 is good but 3 is better but if you want to use muticahnnel you'd better choose 2 or 4 Gig in a aual pack (2x1gig) and (2x2gig) .

Ideal Desktop Computer System Configuration for Software Development?

Q. Hi all. I'm From India, & I have recently started a new business, a software company. We work on technologies such as Java, .Net for developing desktop application, and PHP, JSP for web. I'm planning to set up a lab with at least 15 computers. All I want to know what is the Ideal Desktop Computer System Configuration I should go for?

like what motherboard - processor
RAM
HDD size & speed
and all other related stuff I should buy?

Please Help!
Many Thanks!!!
:D

A. hi pam
well for starters your best looking for a quad core processor ( minimum ) with 16gb of ram .... and storage is essential with a business so a 2tb hard drive is recommended ....
that's the core components however for software development you don't want a graphics card aimed at gaming ... instead you should be looking at either NVidia quadro or AMD fireGL .... these are designed to run more serious applications such as cad and java and would be ideal
however with 15 computers needed for your lab you need to keep costs low but still have plenty of power for your work
and with all 15 pc,s needing to be connected (networked ) you need to ensure any lan(local area network ) adapter is up to the job .... infact it may even be worth buying a dedicated network card such as a intel nic which cost around £25 ... don't use wireless especially when running a business as it wont be as secure as it should be
ive looked around for a good base system that's not too expensive and ive found a good pc in the shape of the "HP 600B MT Desktop + Monitor"( http://www.ebuyer.com/510199-hp-600b-mt-desktop-monitor-d5s03ea-abu ) .. for just £359 you get a decent pc with a ivybridge Pentium G2020T .. and 4gb of ram and a 500gb hard drive
theres intel HD graphics however this can be upgraded at anytime if you find you need more graphics processing power .. a card such as the "PNY Quadro NVS310 "( http://www.ebuyer.com/394231-pny-quadro-nvs310-pci-express-x16-512mb-gddr3-64bit-low-profile-card-vcnvs310dvi-pb ) is relatively inexpensive and would improve the intel onboard solution
granted you could buy a core i7 based pc with 16gb of ram .. however when your buying 15 this would be extremely expensive and the above pc would be more than capable of running java based apps and PHP
at the end of the day its about cost .... obviously you will be borrowing capital to start your business so the less you spend the less you lend and thus any loan is payed earlier and then your business will start to see handsome profits
the above pc is good as it has decent specifications and the included monitor will also keep costs down ..... but if you have monitors already then you may want to check out the "Fujitsu Esprimo E410 SFF Desktop"( http://www.ebuyer.com/509526-fujitsu-esprimo-e410-sff-desktop-vfy-e0410p5511gb ) which is based around a powerful core i5 3330 ... this along with 4gb of ram and a 500gb hard drive is a solid foundation ... and windows 7 Professional is included also along with a windows 8 license ..
finally you may want to look for pc retailers who deal specificly with business customers .. these guys can sell you bulk purchases were you can save money ...... companys such as misco ( http://www.misco.co.uk/ ) are great and have pc,s aimed at new businesses ... worth checking !
I hope this helps pam ...any questions let me know, and good luck with your new business
all the best !

what can i do if my game The Sims 2 won't start and it says that :?

Q. : "failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drives provided by the manufacturer. the application will now terminate."

A. I had this exact same message last year, every time I tried to load the game. It went on for months! After a very lengthy back-and-forth exchange between EA Customer Support and myself (and I think I probably know the name of every EA Customer Support rep in India!), and jumping through a lot of hoops, and going through a whole heap of computer configurations, I finally took my computer into a repair shop, plopped it down on the counter, and told them, "I can't play my Sims!!"

Turned out my video card was blown. (There was a lot of other stuff wrong with my machine, but that's the one that caused the error message you're referring to.)

My suggestion would be to start with EA Customer Support:

http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/home.php?p_li=&p_sid=rQlD33wj&p_sp=&p_faqid=0&p_iid=0&p_created=&p_prod=&p_cat=&p_cv=&p_pv=&p_prods=&p_cats=&prod_lvl1=&prod_lvl2=&prod_lvl3=&cat_lvl1=&cat_lvl2=&cat_lvl3=&p_hidden_prods=&p_search_text=&p_new_search=&p_accessibility=&p_page=&p_lva=&nextlink=

Some of the agents are actually kind of knowledgeable, and there are a few things you can try, like downloading the drivers for your video card, and updating your version of DirectX, before you run out and replace your video card.

can you help me build a laptop online?

Q. i want to buy a laptop on the dell website the laptop im interested in is the inspiron 1420 i want to customize it to run fast,to have alot of memory and thats about it can anyone help?

A. If you have the money, I'd go with the following configuration:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 (fastest front side bus)
4 GB RAM (hopefully it's at least PC5300 RAM with a 667mhz frontside bus)
160GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
DVD+/-RW with Dual Layer DVD+R write capacity
Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini Card

Vista is a bit of a resource hog, so I'd definitely recommend upgrading the RAM or seeing if you can downgrade to XP. The faster hard drive will definitely help too, that's generally the slowest part of any computer system.

If you're a gamer, you'll want the Nvdia graphics card as well.

But....I must agree with some of the previous posts...Dell does have a tendency to suck for support.

1. If anything breaks, it could be difficult getting replacement parts since Dell generally doesn't deal with third party retailers.

2. Even getting accessories like spare power adapters and batteries is a giant pain in the arse. (And believe me I deal with this all the time, I work in a computer shop)

3. Customer support can be a pain as well, since many of their call centers are now located in India. Not that I have anything against that, but the reception can be spotty when calling overseas and this doesn't exactly create the best conditions for tech-support

So basically, if anything does go wrong, you have to deal directly with Dell.

Just get a Mac.

Can someone build me a computer?
Q. Hi, i'm trying to build a computer for around 300-425 dollars that will run low end PC games like Combat arms on low-med settings at 60 fps, and WoW on low at 30-60 FPS, these are my only requirements and i dont need a big hard drive either, only 250-500gb HD, thank you all in advance.

A. $ 400 roughly translates into 21000/- Indian rupees.
For 21000/- Indian rupees, here in India we could get the following configuration:

AMD FX6100 processor with a biostar motherboard.
GSkill 4GB DDR3 ram.
AMD radeon 6450 1GB DDR3 graphics.
monitor , power supply , cabinet, hard disk all your choice!!!
Cheers&Good luck!!
