Best gaming laptop under $1500!!!!!!!!?

Q. It doesn't even need to be a gaming laptop, it just has to function well and not slow with one big game... like the sims 3 without being a horrible computer. I am felxible with the price range. Not macs, because i already have one.

A. Go with an alienware, they are under 1500, without any add ons, but if you want it to be super decked out you might go over

Best online gaming computer for under $1500?
Q. Hi, I'm looking to buy a new desktop under $1500. I would like it to be able to handle games like Everquest 2, WoW, Starcraft2, etc at atleast medium setting level. Also, any suggestions on what video cards to look out for good/bad? Thanks!

A. first off i recommend xp for gaming, its much more stable. hers what you need:
cpu: q6600 intel quad core
ram: 4 gigs or more
Video: Radion 3870 hd, 3870 hd X2 or 4870 (all great card for gaming)
Find a comp with those specs and ur good. if you know anything about building, adding your own video card/ram might be cheeper.

Can anyone suggest a laptop that would be perfect for a college freshman?

Q. My current laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885. Its too big.
I love this laptop and its features especially the memory, ram and the capability to play hardcore
games like skyrim or sims 3 or warcraft or mass effect 3.
I don't want to give up the power of my current computer, but lets be realistic, I cant bring an 18inch gaming laptop into class. I want a new laptop that is slimmer and 15 inches or less. Price is no option so long as it is under $1500.

A. Check out for ASUS G55VW-ES71 15.6-Inch Gaming Notebook
Intel Core i7 3610QM / Core i7 3610QM 2.3 GHz
8 GB SO-DIMM
500 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen, Nvidia GTX 660M

Can someone suggest me some gaming computer parts?
Q. I was looking forward to building one for under 1500 dollars. And it must be able to run Battlefield 3 on ultra settings.

A. CPU - i5/i7 Quad
Memory - 16GB DDR3
Motherboard - fits your CPU
Hard Drive - SSD (60-120GB)
GPU - ATI or Nvidia
PSU - 650W+

Should roughly be around 800-900 with the monitor and keyboards then about 1200. 1500 too much.

What should i expect from a gaming desktop and whats a good brand?

Q. I am looking at getting a gaming comp, but i don't know too much about them. I have done some research but i just don't know whats what. I would like to keep it under 1500 bucks, but would be willing to spend a lil over that. Any help would be great!

A. can't stress enough this point, avoid windows vista at all cost, it's a gamers nightmare. go with windows xp or windows 7, or if you're feeling really adventurous, go for a mac. either way, if you'd like one custom built, try going to a few local computer places, like frye's if there's any nearby. geeksquad has a few decnet ones, but since we're talking about gaming, try alienware. if it's not your style, or too pricey, there's fujitsu, and of course it never hurts to check inside a PC gamer's magazine. they're got alot of awesome advertiser's in there usually with awesome custom pc's that make gamers drool.

and if you need a gamer's laptop, i'd say go for the same thing, but also check out qvc.com. there's payment plans that don't require credit checks, and they've got some hooked up hp's on there for awesome prices.

the main specs you want to pay close attention to in a gaming laptop is RAM, you'll want a min. of 3 gb's, the video card makes or breaks the deal, you'll want 512 or better and stick with nvidia or ati radeon. avoid processors below 2.3 with laptops, 3.0 for desktops. harddrive's are where u can be flexible, but you'll want 320gb+, if you go with a desktop there's a chance of adding a slave drive later so remember that. yes 500gb is ideal, but you'll never fill it up lol, same with a terrabyte which is 1000gb.
and there's the other advatnages of a gaming desktop...cooling. you'll want 3-6 fans, supercooling when possible. power supply varies depending on your motherboard, but remember to stay above 350. if u build it yourself, make sure you get the motherboard and tower first since the rest of your parts HAVE to be compatible with them to work.
hope this helps and good luck in your search!

What is the best gaming laptop for 1500 or less?
Q. I want a good laptop for under 1500. I want it to be able to run games at the highest settings and I want it from a good company. Thanks

A. Dell.com ftw. If this link shows you the changes I made, its at 1500 exactly.
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=dkcwbv1f&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&model_id=alienware-m14x
Basicly, it has 8GB Ram (only thing higher is 16GB and would cost ~2500) with a graphics card of 3GB (99% of all computers I've seen have 1GB. And those are the high quality gaming computers. 3GB is like family sizing a bag of doritos instead of getting some from a vendoring machine.) And around 3.3Ghz. And 750GB Harddrive. This thing is like 25-40% better then mine, yet mine can run any game that is currently availible on the highest settings, lag free. This 1500$ laptop would probably last you 2-7 years (We'll see after BFBC3 comes out. Its suppose to revolutionize the standards for online gaming, which might radicly surpress the life of any computer bought within a year of its release. I doubt it though, and to be more advanced then a laptop like this, would blow my mind.)

It didnt show the changes btw. So click the "memory" "video card" and "hard drive" tabs at the bottom, and change them to 8GB, 3GB, and 750 GB respectively.

What is the best gaming computer on the market today?

Q. I'm looking for a great gaming computer, preferably under a grand. Plz note i have no idea what things cost.

A. The BEST gaming computer is the one that has the best hardware for the price. alienware will NEVER EVER be in that category....

You can build you own computer from like http://newegg.com that would stomp any alienware for 1/3 the cost. (i have actually built a close match, had to upgrade some areas, of the $4000 alienware for under $1500).

If you really dont want to build your own, go to http://ibuypower.com or http://cyberpowerpc.com and you can have custom gaming computers built. Its MUCH cheaper then alienware with MUCH more selection.

For that budget you could easily get something like:

core i5-2500 (i wouldnt get the K version unless you plan to overclock)
8gb of ram (you only need 4 really, but i guess 8 will make sure you never have to buy ram again until ddr3 is outdated lol)
1tb hdd 7200rpm 32/64mb cache
AMD 6850/6870/6950 are good choices for graphics cards.

that should easily fall under a $1000 or less budget. and you can easily play any games on max settings @ 1080P resolution.

What kind of gaming computer do I buy?
Q. I need a good computer that will play new games without lag. Also, I need it to be under $1500. Some suggestions for graphics cards would be appreciated too. I don't know much about computers, so I need some help :)

A. CPU Guide

GPU Guide

Also get a Kingston SSD because it has exceptional RANDOM read/write meaning you can start multiple applications at the same time in under 5 seconds instead of 60 seconds - It is a Inten X25-M clone for less money but without TRIM firmware.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139005&cm_re=kingston_ssd-_-20-139-005-_-Product

Get a 500GB per platter (High aerial density for Speed) Spindle drive for storage - Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB or 1TBSeagate 7200.11 1.5TB - avoid caviar black at 1TB, 1.5TB and 750GB capacities. You can buy this separately from newegg.
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2009/10/06/samsung-spinpoint-f3-1tb-review/3

I would get a iBuyPower computer if you are not building it yourself
This has 8GB, i7 750, GTX 285, 800W PSU for $1200 - can't beat that
http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Configurators.aspx?mid=460
You can install a 5870 (or two) or a GTX 295 for only $200 more and put in a Kinsgton SSD and buy a Spinspoint F3 from newegg for $1500.

A. Go to Best Buy and buy an HP FX series for $1000.

Whats the best gaming computer from best buy?
Q. I want to get a good gaming computer from best buy but don't know which one to get.
I want it to be able to play Far cry 3, Simcity, World of Warcraft etc... Building one is out of the question because i have no idea how. My budget is under $1500 and i would like it to last at least a few years.
Thanks for any help
I have been looking at Newegg and i'm wondering whats a good gaming computer there?
First time buying a gaming computer, tried of playing xbox? Also would i be able to play it on my Samsung 1080 hd tv?

A. Id REALLY suggest learning how to build your own, but if you insist on getting a prebuilt

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227431
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258025

(id suggest the 1st one)
since the first one has a quality asus P8z77 motherboard, and a quality 750W corsair PSU (2 things 99% of prebuilt computers lack on is cheap motherboard and psu)
It also has a good case, and the i5-3570k + gtx670 is a solid in gaming performance, and you will be maxing every game on the market at 1920x1080 resolution.
Also the 1st one, if you built it yourself, it will cost you about $1200. So $1400 for a quality computer already built for you, isnt "too" bad i guess, but it still a waste of $200.

EDIT:
well i linked probably the best 2 prebuilt pcs from newegg.
Yes you can play on a 1080P TV using HDMI.
If its an older tv, it may cut off some of the screen, but alot of the newer tvs account for overscan on pcs, and are able to fit the image correctly.
