Is this computer fit for gaming in 2013?

Q. this christmas i want to buy a pc for light gaming, here are the specs: 3Ghz quad-core intel i5 CPU,asus directx10 motherboard,8GB ddr3 ram,750GB HDD,1GB asus nvidia geforce graphics card, dvd and blu-ray optical drives, microsoft wired keyboard and mouse, 22'' LED full HD monitor, running the windows 7 OS(i dont plan on upgrading anytime soon).

A. This definitely will be fit for gaming. The memory, the space, and the specs are perfect. It'd be a good test subject to try out GTA V on the PC when it eventually comes out ;)

Help, please? Which video card will work to upgrade my system for average computer games of 2013/14?
Q. I have an HP desktop with the following specs:

HP XW4600 Workstation Desktop
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Processor (3.0GHz, 4MB Cache, 1333MHz FSB)
4GB of DDR2 RAM Memory
500GB SATA Hard Drive
DVD+/-RW (Burns CDs & DVDs)
Video: NVIDIA Quadro NVS290
Integrated High Definition audio with jack retasking capability
Integrated 10/100/1000 Network
7 USB 2.0 connectors (2 Front & 5 Rear)
Microphone Jack ( Front )
Headphone Jack ( Front )

OPERATING SYSTEM
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

I realize the NVIDIA Quadro NVS290 video card is an old card; what video card would be a good upgrade and compatible for this system?

Do the card specs need to match the pc specs? Will I need an "DDR2" video card to match my system?

This is for my teen; besides basic games, she also needs to run a drawing tablet, too.
Any constructive advice will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!

A. The computer isn't bad but a CPU upgrade may be something you would look into to also boost performance since the overall specs are getting a bit out dated. As far as the graphics card is concerned A lot of cards in the $85-100 range work well to get games even to medium/high settings even maxed out in some cases. I like the Radeon HD 6670 but anything in the price range listed should work well. But since the other computer parts are getting outdated the graphics card should have a little more power than you think you need.
Also don't forget to check the current power supply output as you may need a new power supply that can provide the power to the system plus the new card.

Does anyone remember this old computer game?

Q. It was kinda like pacman where this circle dude went around a maze eating pellets but it was like in outer space or something. And I remember clearly that the darth vader song was in one of the levels...I remember playing it along side Ray Man..But for the life of me cannot think of the name of this game...

A. I never heard of that. I ran across this blog the other day. There was a posting about Pacman games that are online. You may want to check it out.

Would this be a great gaming computer for 2013?
Q. I've been considering on buying, or building a computer for me. I am a big gamer and have had all my games on my Inspiron 14R 4010N and well with new games coming out it is behaving like a piece of crap. So this time I want to go with a desktop, will this run all my games and future ones? My types of games are Modern Warfare 2-3, Black Ops II, Battlefield 3, DayZ. I want to know if it will handle it fine, not looking for crazy insane lifelike quality of my games just something between sweet and eh.

This this is the computer:

A. Keep looking. You've landed firmly in "eh." AMD Quad-Core FX-4100 processor 3.60GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GT 610. A very low-end CPU paired with the absolute lowest end dedicated card that Nvidia makes. At least the two are a good match. Neither one is good. If $500 is your budget, you're going to be hard-pressed to get anything above .. eh. You really need to be in the range of $700-800 and even that's probably just above mediocre.

What is the difference between a gaming laptop and standard laptop?

Q. My son has asked for a "Gaming Laptop" for Xmas. I looked at some laptops and really have no idea what specifically separates a gaming laptop from a standard laptop. Can someone help with some advice? Thanks

A. Before the days of windows, when I first set my eyes on a computer I said They are the future 35yrs later, I still say they are the future, I bought my son his first computer in 1978, it cost me more than my house cost, he learned computer programming. Today he is a highly paid computer program developments engineer. Who travels the world doing his job,

A computer today is the best educational tool a child could ever have, By all means buy him the best that you can afford, but if you allow him to play games on it all the time you are not doing him any favors, you're going to kill his innovation to explore other things that he can do with a computer. Like making his own computer games, that's how my son started, he made his own basic games

I am going to have to educate you first and save you hundreds of dollars, Window and Mac are not the only computer operating systems in the world. there are others that are Free they are faster, superior and far more advanced the operating system is up to date November/December 2013, with over 43,600 free professional application software packages, and 1,800 free games, including educational software on every subject known, that will take your son through high school, collage and university

here are some of the free computer operating systems and educational software
http://edubuntu.org

Computer programming for kids this is being used in schools in Estonia to teach first graders computer coding and in schools in the uk to teach 3rd graders

Remember education begins at home and ends at home. You are the one that's responsible for his education, not schools or teachers

As of October 2013, what are the best deals on computer components for a gaming computer?
Q. I have an 800 dollar budget. Though I probably won't be trying to run Crisis 3 on high graphics, I want to be able to run similar games with nice graphics.

A. parts for a gaming PC for under $800 (without the SSD) that can play Crysis 3 on high settings

a SSD is nice to have for a fast system boot but not compelling

what are the best business ideas for summer 2013?

Q. I'm 16 years old. I'm First year accountancy student. I live in the Philippines. I just want to know the best summer business/jobs that fits for me. I don't want to spend my time in front of the computer and doing nothing but to read and play computer games so I decided that I want to earn money to help my parents.

A. Working in a shop?
Use a hobby and turn it into money it can work

What do people mean when they say xbox 360 games are upscaled from 720p to 1080p?
Q. Does this still apply to games in 2013? I play games in 720p but i would like to know what people mean when they say this.

A. Essentially the game is stretched from its original 720p to display in 1080p, the best visual demonstration I can think of, is get a picture on your computer, and just make it bigger, this is basically what upscaling is, although of course it is a bit more complicated than that. Upscaling can still improve visual quality on a game to an extent, but generally it makes little difference. A true 1080p game is designed in that resolution to begin with, which gives an over all better visual quality.

Also @Chelsea The only difference between DVD, and bluray is the storage capacity. The reason you need blu ray for movies is because a 1080p movie is a whole lot bigger, and wouldn't fit on a dvd. Yet a short film in 1080p actually would..Don't confuse movies with software, it's very different,. While the textures in a 1080p game obviously use more space, this has no affect on whether or not the Xbox 360 can play native 1080p games. The restriction is xbox 360's gpu, rather than the disc format. PS3 uses a blu ray drive, and very few of its games are 1080p as well. Yet all pc games still come on dvd, while they're installation discs, a PC game will play in much higher resolutions than 1080p if your graphics card is good enough.

Whats the ideal computer i should get for Forex trading?

Q. According to this website i was reading, the computer needs to be able to handle incoming data feeds in real time while running other applications.

A. That would mean ANY personal computer manufactured in 2013 running Microsoft Windows 7 or 8.

FOREX is terrible for novice investors. 75% of all investors lose nearly their entire stake within the first few months because the game is stacked. The FOREX trading company sets exchange rates, not the open market. You're playing against the house. Due to the minimum lot sizes (usually several thousand dollars each), you MUST leverage your investment of several hundred by buying ON MARGIN and when the currency goes down by a tiny fraction, the company forces a margin call (sale of your investment) before you have a chance to recoup losses in order to meet the margin call. Stay away.

Don't take my word on it:
http://articles.latimes.com/2011/apr/03/business/la-fi-amateur-currency-trading-20110403

But if you still insist, I'm betting 3 to 1 that you lose your entire investment within 120 days.

How to upload pes 2013 psp replays on your computer?
Q. I have pes 2013 on my PSP and i dont know how to upload the replays. Please help.

A. Connect to the PC with a USB cable, then use a plugin called Remotejoy
Or just put the Memory Stick in the PC and look for it in the SaveData
PSP > GAME > SAVEDATA
Switch to Thumbnail view so you dont have to look through the whole thing
