What would it cost to build a gaming computer?

Q. All I want in a gaming computer is super fast internet, amazing graphics, doesn't lag on games, and I can carry lots of memory. Please guys someone answer. I will give best answer to the best answer.

A. Well a gaming computer depends on your budget , as long as you pay more as you get better performance . Unfortunately you didn't mention your budget so i cant give you a specific build . The lowest gaming PC that can play games on Max / High settings on resolution of 1920 x 1080 is for at least 800$ . The gaming PCs are mostly depend on strong graphics card not the processor so you make sure to buy a High end card (( not less than 250$ )) and for the CPU any core i3 or AMD FX-4300 will do the purpose . About the fast internet you just need to have ADSL contract with a good company and choose the speed you want to have .

I will give you a random rig for 800$ :

CPU : FX-4300 (( 120$ )) / FX-6300 (( 130 $ ))
Motherboard : ASRock 970 extreme 3 (( 120 $ )) / 970 pro 3 (( 75$ ))
Ram : 8GB (( 2 x 4GB )) 1600 Mhz (( 70$ )) i recommend G-skill or Corsair
Vga card :Evga GTX 770 (( 410 $ )) / / Sapphire Vapor X 7950 (( 380$ )) / Evga GTX 760 (( 260$ ))
Power supply : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028
For the high storage you need like 1 or 2 TB depends on your need and 1TB HDD is for 75$ so if you add more then double the price .
Any thing else like DVD player or Led light will be cheap and u can handle that yourself they won't exceed 30 $ .

I strongly recommend that you stick with Sapphire Vapor X 7950 due to its special cooling which will keep your card cool , silent and highly overclock-able . Many will say that you go for AMD FX-6300 as it has 6 cores and in the same price . In fact FX-4300 cores are stronger and most games use 4 cores not 6 so FX-4300 will be better , check this site for further knowledge http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/293/AMD_FX-Series_FX-4300_vs_AMD_FX-Series_FX-6100.html

Also if you don't like AMD for a processor then your only chance is to go for Core i3 which will give nearly the same performance of FX-4300 and with the same price , Unless you have a higher budget that afford a Core i5 (( 180$ and above )) , but in this case i would recommend to invest more in graphics card so you get something like GTX 780 (( 660 $ )) or HD 7970 (( 500 $ )) . If you need any help send me an email . Hope i helped

What would be the best and cheapest parts for a gaming desktop?
Q. Apparently, I am not good with putting parts together, because the price for the things I've got listed is over 1000 dollars, and I have heard of people with amazing gaming desktops for less than 500.

I'm willing to spend between 600-1000. Under 600 or close to it would be optimal until I get a job.

What I have so far, is:

Monitor : LG - 24" Widescreen Flat-Panel LED Multifunction HDTV Monitor

Tower : Corsair - Obsidian Series 650D Mid-Tower Case

Power Supply : Corsair - Enthusiast Series 850-Watt ATX/EPS CPU Power Supply

CPU : Intel - Core™ i7-4770K 3.5GHz Processor

Ram : NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card

Fan : Corsair - Hydro Series H100i Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler

I don't know if that is all I need, but it turned out being extremely expensive.

My first question is, would this be a good gaming computer?

My second question is, is there a cheaper set up that would be just as good?

A. If your main purpose for your build is gaming, then I recommend getting the Intel 4670K instead of the 4770K, the reason why, is that there is almost no game on the market to date that totally takes advantage of Hyper-threading and in some cases it has been known that hyper-threading can actually drop your FPS in some games.

What I recommend doing with the extra $100 you would be spending on the 4770K and invest it in a better GPU, something on the lines of the GTX660ti or the GTX760. The GPU is were you will see the most improvement in gaming all together as games now a days are more GPU intense then they are CPU intense.

Other then that, very very nice build you have going. Also one other thing, if you want to throw a little more money towards a better GPU after saving the $100, you can get a PSU that has 600W and it will still be enough power to support everything you have. Now a days everything is about power saving not how much power you have like it was about 5 years ago. GPU's don't even use a ton of power like they use to.

Hope this helped you,

What is the best priced gaming computer?
Q. I'm currently browsing online sites looking for the best deal on a high-end gaming computer. I have a rough $600-700 budget trying to stick to $700... I have the thought in mind to build my own computer from scratch or buy a desktop such as the Alienware X51. Any information and comparisons are greatly appreciated on parts and computers.

A. Just build one yourself.
It's fun, easy, and saves you lots of money.
Here is some good specs for about $700

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k - $220 (Newegg)
MOBO: ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 - $150 (Newegg)
GPU: XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 - $160 w/ MIR (Newegg)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB - $30 (Newegg)
PSU: CORSAIR Professional Series HX650 - $110 w/ MIR (Newegg)
CASE: COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 - $65 w/ MIR (Newegg)
SOUND: OPTIONAL
INTERNET: OPTIONAL (NOT EXPENSIVE)

TOTAL: $735

Obviously you can play around with those specs.
Also, check out other sites like NCIX.US, Amazon, Ebay, and even Craigslist for cheaper parts. I built my computer that would have costed me over $1500 for about half of that price because I found great deals at these sites!

Also, for more information I'd suggest checking out Tom's Hardware forum.
There a lot of people like you with similar questions, and they're are more people that have more knowledge in building/OCing computers!

How do i check if my computer will be good enough for guild wars 2?

Q. i am no tech savy. i have windows 7, and know where to find some specs and where to find the gw2 system requirements thus far. i'm just confused on ..idek what. lol i just want to be sure. idk what anything is. lol what's the most important thing in computer gaming, a good CPU or high graphics card?

A. Here are the minimum GW2 specs:
- Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better
- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better
- NVIDIA GeForce 7800, ATI Radeon X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (257MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
- 25 GB available HDD space
- Broadband Internet connection
- Keyboard and mouse

Keep in mind that these are MINIMUM, meaning that a computer of these specs would run the game, but is not guaranteed to run smoothly.

To check your computer specs, try downloading a program such as Belarc (www.belarc.com/free_download.html) or Speccy (www.piriform.com/speccy).

Hope this helps.

Does the server on a network see what am I doing on the computer?

Q. Our school computer are connected on a network and is connected to the internet through a desktop computer that acts like a server and most sites are being blocked. Does the server see if I am installing a program or going to some website or playing games?

A. They might have some monitoring stuff installed on the PC you use, which CAN track keylogs, what you did, and etc. Well if they have them installed, they can see.

The server can see what you do on the internet if they have the right stuff installed. They can know like what websites the computer you use has visited, but not what you install, and stuff that doesent have to do anything with internet.

Tracking softwares need to be installed on the computer thats getting used. Maybe some geekheads employed at the school will check what students did with their computers. As long as the school don't write down who was sitting at the computer at what time, they wont know who did the stuff on the computer, unless they have some kind of CCTV in the room where computers are situated.

Unless they have this tracking software installed on all the computers, they wont know who did what , you can never know if theres a tracking software working or not, its hidden and can't be spotted easily.

But they can still see what students do with the internet

What do you recommend in my situation: desktop pc or macbook?
Q. I am a freshman in high school, I need to type essays and do research. I need microsoft office 2007. My dad says he will buy me a desktop computer, OR a macbook. What do you think I should pick. And can you put microsoft word on a macbook.

A. Microsoft Office runs natively in Mac OS, yes.

Personally, I'd take the MacBook (Pro if you can). While they are pretty expensive, they are great computers. A big selling point for the MacBook, given these two computers, is the mobility of the MacBook. You can take it with you to school, take notes, maybe even get some of your essays done during "down time" in class.

I was a PC user my whole life... but recently, I switched to Mac, and I love it! While desktops in general give you more for less money (especially PCs), mobility is huge and the OS X operating system is simple, easy, and aesthetically pleasing.

A PC gives you access to all the hardware, and ALL the software (including the files that can permanently crash your computer if tampered with). A Mac makes things simple, you don't have many problems, but in the event that you do, there's probably an Apple Store close(ish) to you, they'll fix it up, or give you a new computer if need be.

I love Mac, and am never* making the switch back to PC. My only exception is if I were to build a gaming beast... PC is the best for this. (Unless you have $30,000 extra for a Mac gaming beast).

What is the best desk top for gaming?

Q. I am looking to purchase a desk top computer for my 17 year old son who enjoys playing games on his computer as well as using it for homework, internet, etc. What is a good choice, what are the important components to support gaming, any specific site recommendations or brands/sites to avoid? I am a single mom on a budget (hoping for under $1500.00) so value is important to me as well as warranty but I want to get a computer that will last, he will use it for college next year. Thank you!

A. The Best one i suggest is the dell xps dimension with dual xeon processor check out it if you litlle out of budget then you may buy AMD BASED XFX SYSTEM

What would be the best processor to use while building a good gaming computer?
Q. I've been looking around the internet, trynig to find the best processor for me to use in building a desk top computer. There are A TON of different processors between AMD and Intel. And I just don't know what to pick. The ideal processor would be one that can run advanced video editing software like Sony vegas pro 10 or what not, and has the capability of playing games like BF3 or skyrim. Oh, and my prefered budget would be around $50 to $100.

A. I like referring to these value lists that judge Passmark benchmarks by sale price:
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_value_available.html
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html

In the CPU list, the Phenom II X4 955 is the top contender (topped by less powerful Athlon IIs and Intel Celerons, and by more expensive FX eight-cores). Intel's better i5 and i7 series are also more expensive.

If by chance you were looking for graphics cards, the Radeon #750 models (the first digit is the series, while the next two numbers describe where within the tier they sit). Not sure how the GeForce numbering works… Here are some videos:
Radeon HD 7750 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1TCn7CJhLc
GeForce GTS 450 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElUlIISMbWM

How do you know if a graphics card is good for gaming?

Q. I am trying to find a good computer for gaming and i dont want to spend a lot. So alienware is obviously off the table. When i look to see the graphics cards, i dont understand which are better because i see nVidia GeForce 9400 or Intel Accelerated HD or Graphics Accelerated HD. I have tried like when searching to go under the gaming section for computers, and i look at their graphics cards. They all vary between nVidia, ATA, Accelerated graphics, and a few others.

A. If you're not that into upgrading and PC troubleshooting then you probably want to go for a popular brand and widely used type of graphics card, that way it will be easy to keep up to date with drivers and ensure the widest compatibility.

I would recommend going for an nVidia graphics card as there is a wide choice available and they are fairly reliable and cost effective.

On a budget, have a look at an NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT or a 9600GT with at least 512mb of ram, preferably 1gb. You won't be disappointed.

What is the best birthday gift to give your partner?
Q. My boyfriend will turn 21 this July and I am thinking of something to give as a present. He loves computer games and all computer stuff. I know he wants to have a new case for his CPU and a computer table. I can give him those things but other than those kind of stuff, what other 'best presents' can you suggest?

No mean answers please. Thanks! :)

A. get him a gaming keyboard!! check out like a Wolf Claw keyboard or even a Saitek Programmable Gamer keyboard. he'll love those.

if he's a big gamer, then a Thermaltake "Beetle" heatpipe will be appreciated as well - it basically takes the load off the heavy processing and stuff

other things are like the liquid cooled thermaltake "tai chi" computer case - a great gift.

if you dont want gadgets:

math and science tshirts are cute...as is some other kind of tshirt that says something funny about being a computer geek. think big bang theory :)

or maybe you could wear this: http://netforbeginners.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.jinx.com/scripts/details.asp%3Faffid=%2D1%26productID=91

How to abandon video game addiction?

Q. I am addicted to a computer game(MMO, World of tanks), which ruins my studies. When I get home I play hours of it instead of writing homework, etc.
Once I deleted the game, but I downloaded it again after 30 days.
I need help from experts, how to stop this bad habbit. Please give me some advice and links where I can find more help.
Thank you in advance.

A. I'm no expert but I didn't have video games when I was growing up nor did I have electricity. I'm 19 now but anyway find something else fun to do like riding horses or going out with friends. You need a hobby and delete the game again too and stay off the computer as much as you can.

What are some good online MMO or MMORPG games that I can download for free?
Q. Just curious im not really a computer gamer but I played Forsaken World and loved it so im asking you guys what are some other good online games I can download and play for free? Thanks

A. There are a ton of great MMOs that are free to play right now. If you want a list of free MMORPGs with screenshots, information on customization, usability, price, crafting, grinding toughness, and PvP system along with a short list of unique features, you can compare free MMORPGs here:

What do i need to be looking for in a desktop for a gaming computer?

Q. need something that will run the upcoming games.bf3 diablo3 SW:Old Republic. what graphics card/processor is capable
i have a 2008 model dell desktop... could i just buy and install a new graphics card?

A. Dell is not designed for games, in all ways. You can potentially add video card but very weak, because good ones will stress PSU and you have a crappy one that will burn in flames under stress of GTX 560 or so. Also they use slow RAM and bad heatsinks that can not handle too much load on the CPU. It's a bad ideal to upgrade DELL.
Get a real gaming computer, best price range is around $800-1000 with Phenom II X4 or Intel i5 Quad, 4GB RAM and up, GTX 550 or ATI 6770 and up video cards, good case, PSU and CPU cooler.

What are some good beginner gaming computers?
Q. I am very new to gaming computers and I know I should build my own, but I want to first buy one premade since I have no idea how to make one. Give me some links to some if you guys can please. I don't need anything too advanced. All I really need is a gaming pc that will run all the recent games such as dishonored and things like that on medium settings with no lag. No serious power needed just some decent computers please. I don't have a price range right now but I would like to keep it under 750. I know that's low, but I have seen some decent ones that I am interested in that are cheap. So please let me know guys! Thank you!

A. Well, I could get you a very good gaming system, but you would have to build it yourself, BUT it is easy. Watch a YouTube vid and you are set, you just need a few tools and you can build it. It will safe you 100-200$ and you get the satisfaction of building it yourself. I based this off my 800$ high end gaming system and downgraded it some. Also, when building it yourself, not a whole lot can go wrong IF you watched a video. The CPU only fits in one way, same with the ram, sane with the video card. The parts are all built so that it is easy to build it yourself. This system is right at the border to a high-end system and even I would be very happy with it. It can take on any game at high to ultra settings with no lag. This video card can run Crysis 3 at High settings and BF3 at Ultra settings. In other words, its the most bang for your buck you can get. Also, It allows a lot of upgrading. For example if it gets slower you can stick a new GPU in it and upgrade to the 8-core AMD CPUs it supports. I built this system based on price, performance, and upgrade ability. Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1kOKQ

NOTE: Intel CPUs are more expensive, but don't heat up as quickly, but for 200$ extra, they aren't worth it. AMD CPU's are better for budget systems, and have a much higher price for performance rating.

Hope this helps,

DJ

What type of mouse recorder would work for computer games?
Q. I want to record my mouse clicking and have it go on repeat forever, but all the recorders I have tried using do not work with computer games. They move, but the clicking for whatever reason doesn't work. If it matters, the game is called Windslayer, and it is something you install (not play on your browser).

A. Advanced Key and Mouse Recorder is tool which records the keyboard and mouse activities and plays them back when required for automating repetitive tasks. You may utilize it in any applications, such as a game, a painting application, a word processor.

What and where is the best custom built gaming computer?

Can I use a touch screen as a second monitor while still having mouse control on the primary?
Q. I have a gaming computer setup that uses two monitors- 1, the primary is a larger monitor that displays the main view and the other is a much smaller (currently a 7" portable TV) that just displays a status/info page. I do occasionally have to interact with the status page in game which currently involves coming off the controls (it primarily uses joystick control) to go to the mouse to do whatever. I'd like to upgrade to a small touch screen I found, to allow to do what needs to be done right on the screen, quciker and easier than with the mouse, but I'm wondering how that would effect mouse control.

If I had the mouse and touch screen input connected to my computer, could I leave the mouse cursor on my main monitor, interact with the touch screen as needed and still have the mouse on the primary, or would the computer interpret the touch screening as a mouse move and click to that monitor location, necessitating moving the mouse back to the primary monitor if I need to do something there?

A. Hello Bob, yes you can but you cant use both at the same time. If your using touch screen and mouse at same time it will glitch out and not work.

What is the best computer to get under $600 for online gaming?

Q. I'm trying to find a good computer to play games online like battlefield and cod etc.

A. I would suggest you to buy a Cyberpower GUA103SE from Walmart! Very nice computer, cheap price and hella fast with those settings. It can max out your top games, no problem. Just buy that and whip up a monitor and you are done. You would be good for couple of years even if you are a big gamer.

What is the average price to build your own gaming computer? Is it possible to do it for under $900?

Q. I'm really not looking for anything that close to the bleeding edge. I just want to know how the range I'll be in if I'm looking to build a computer that can run things like Dragon Age and WoW without much of a problem. All I'm looking for in my computer is decent gaming performance.

PS. I'm a first-timer at this so any helpful sites would be greatly appreciated.

A. $900 can get you a pretty powerful computer, one that can max out almost any game today.

Look at this $1000 PC ($900 without OS).
http://gamingrig.blogspot.com/2011/06/1000-gaming-pc-june-2011.html

That's good enough to max out any game for the next couple of years at least.

Here is a $800 build that would max out all of todays games.

What is a good starter for a gaming computer?
Q. I just recently got into computers and I have taken interest in building one. I've done all this research over different things but I still have no clue what I should do. What is a good build for a beginner such as myself? I really just want to build a solid gaming computer and be able to upgrade it with better parts later on.

A. Dell makes some really great gaming computers in the Alienware brand. You can compare specs on those what you want to build. I also found this article about how to build a gaming pc for under $1000 bucks that you may want to checkout. http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/19/2639968/how-to-build-gaming-pc

The article breaks down the cost of each major component.

Q. I have been looking for good computer laptops under 600 $ and i have found nothing because im planning to buy myself a gaming laptop for Chrismas. Any suggestions on which laptops i should buy and where i can buy a gaming laptop for a price range between 600 and below money?

A. The only thing that would be able to play games adequately in that price range would be something with either an AMD A-8, or A-10 processor in it. Better brands for reliability are ASUS, Samsung, and Lenovo. Avoid anything made by Dell. Here are a few available from Best Buy to check out.

How do I open a gaming company?

Q. Hello, I am a MBA student currently pursuing my degree in International Business. Since childhood I was very fond of gaming, be it video games, computer games or console games.

Now I would like to open my own gaming company, but I don't have much idea how to go about it. Should I start as a publisher, a developer or both? Also what are the things I should keep in mind while starting my company?

Please advice.

A. Hey i dont suggest starting a gaming company yourself unless you have millions to spare. Seriously the gaming industry extremely high barriers to entry. I just graduated and we had a huuuuuuge case that analyzed the whole industry itself. If you start your company you wont have an established name which means that it is almost impossible fo you to get a spot on shelves at walmart and target which is what gaming industries want.
Another thing is that the gaming industry is very technological which means you will constantly have to update your software, the quality of your games, the systems that you are compatible with...This requires a high specialized engineer for each section.

You also will have the costs of marketing your product, start up costs, developing your equipment costs...This is a huuuuge investment the is more than likely to be lost beause of mor eestablished and developed competitors assuming that you make what an avg individual make about $75k.

I suggest working as an employee at an established gaming co such as GMA because they are contracted with one of the systems i think XBOX (I think XBOX, dont quote me on that).

Good luck. I hope i helped

Should I get a PS3 or replace my computer equipment?
Q. So I saved money, and I've been thinking of getting either a PS3 or new equipment for my computer, changing the keyboard and the mouse to gaming equipment,

A. If the "gaming mouse" and "gaming keyboard" you're looking at cost as much as a PS3, then I think you should go for the PS3 rather than buying what seems to be a quite overpriced gaming mouse and gaming keyboard.

How would i upgrade my ram and graphics card on my Gateway-E155C laptop?

Q. here's a link with all the specs
i know its not the greatest of laptops,
but i like it the only problem is that
im into computer gaming and my graphics
card and ram aren't exactly the best.
My tech friend who's really computer
smart tells me that my laptops
system is in bulk
and would be extremely expensive to upgrade
i personally have little clue
what this means
but if any one could help me
or give me tips to how to upgrade
my card and ram it would
be MUCH appreciated!

A. RAM would not be so hard to upgrade in a laptop as long as it has an available slot. You could google your laptop to see what type of RAM it takes, and then order some online.

Now your graphics card, if you even have one, is built in to the chipset that is in your laptop. Unlike desktops, you simply can't just buy a graphics card as there are no slots built into your chipset on your laptop.

If you are in to computer gaming, perhaps a laptop is not the best option for you. Laptops that are even capable of running current games to the level expected cost $$$.

Can i build a good gaming computer for under say 700 dollars?

Q. Well not necessarily a strict gaming computer, I really want it so i can stream in HD to twitch.tv. I have an elgato cap card but my computer isnt good enough to stream. So would it be possible for me to build one for under 700 or so that could stream how i want it to?

what is the best deal i can get on a new desktop for under $700?
Q. im looking for a new desktop with the most memory, the best processor, etc. im not planning on using this computer for gaming, however i would prefer the computer to have Microsoft XP, and programs such as Office and excell. the price range im aiming for is under $700

A. You can get a very good PC for that money. However, you aren't going to find a brand nw PC with XP. XP no longer comes pre-installed on new models. Don't be afraid of Vista
especially if you're only going by here-say and not from actual experience with Vista. Vista has improved imensely since it was introduced. I wouldn't own a PC without it! I haven't had any problems at all.
I just bought an HP at Circuit City and they had all kinds of desktops for $700.00 or less. The staff at the store I went to was extremely helpful yet, not pushy.
Here is a whole page under $600.00:

How do i learn and become a computer / video game programmer?

Q. I am a junior in high school and love video games. I am very precise and work well alone. For all these reasons i am interested in possibly pursuing a career in computer / video game programming. But first i need to learn how? I would love any suggestions on maybe a good online class i can take to get me started. Then ideas on how to make it my career. What would be the best way to get a job as a programmer? and how?

A. For one, I recommend AGAINST Eli's advice. You will not learn game programming by using the "Easy Routes". If you want to be able to make memory efficient, fast, satisfying games you should look into other methods. (If you ever want to be anything but a hobbyist programmer you HAVE to learn actual programming. Good luck getting a job if your resume only includes "Unity3D" ;D)

My Recommendation:
1: Learn a programming language (C and/or C++)
2: Learn the Windows API (Mainly for tools creation, but minimally for game programming)
3: Learn a Graphics API (DirectX and/or OpenGL)
4: Make EASY games until you are comfortable with the languages/APIs and how they work together (This will teach you the fundamentals of your programming language and graphics API of choice, how they work together, and teach you game related devices required for larger projects such as handling the game loop. This will also make learning to write proper code easier to learn because the scale of the game will be smaller, and therefore easier to manage)
5: Keep creating programs and/or games that are of your skill level, with a few newly added features. Introduce yourself to new topics slowly. Successfully creating a Pong clone is going to aid you a LOT more than failing to create a successful MMORPG.
6: If you enjoy programming, enroll in a college for Software Engineering/Computer Science. Make sure they have classes for Object Oriented Programming and things like that. If you learned a language already in High School, you will have a head start on college, so either way it will be beneficial to start now.

Also, you must work well as a team as well as alone. If you join a game company you will be working with a team and most likely working on code you did not even initially create. Blizzard didn't create World of Warcraft by paying only one man, you know! If you want to be a one man team you will need to expand your knowledge incredibly. You will need to learn how to create, rig, animate, texture models... how to create sound effects, background music... how to program the game (which seems to be what you are after)... and MUCH more. (Nothing is impossible, but as a one man team you will need to rely on releasing Indie games and hope they do well. If they do, you could be a rich, rich human being! If they don't, you might want to sign up for food stamps!)

Good luck! It's actually a lot of fun aside from chasing bugs and memory leaks, but you will not care when you have a finished project. It's just so satisfying ;D Just never forget, technology is swiftly evolving, and Game Programming is like playing a musical instrument. You are never "Finished learning".

PS-
Look into C++ Primer Plus Fifth Edition. It's a great book to learn C++.
As for IDE's to start developing with? It is completely your decision but I recommend Visual Studio 2010 Express Edition OR Bloodshed Dev-C++. You only need one, and Visual Studio is far superior, but Dev-C++ is sufficient until you get into programming graphics (Learning C++ initially will be Console Window based, and therefore a bare-bones IDE will suffice)

How much memory does my mac have?
Q. I want to buy hoyle card games 2010 and it says I need at least 3 GB Hard Disk Space. When I look under memory on my computer, it says 1 GB. I do not believe that I only have 1 GB left because I hardly have anything on my computer, is hard disk space something else? Answer quick please.

A. These are 2 different memories you are talking about.
Your RAM which stands for Random Access Memory is different from your HDD which is how much memory in Gb you have for storing things. Your computer has 1 Gb of RAM, but you definitely have room on your HDD for 3 Gb. If you ever got dangerously low, your Mac would tell you.

How do you record sounds from your computer internally?

Q. I wanted to know if there was an application that can record sounds within my computer from games, videos, Voice IMing etc.
Thanks!
teen360

P.S I have a HP computer with Windows 7.

A. Unless you have specific drivers on your sound card to enable it, Windows 7 disables the ability to do this.

I struggled with this for a week before I figured out what was going on. You can read more about the issue here:

http://mapsedge.wordpress.com/2010/11/14/windows-7-what-a-disappointment/

If by some miracle you HAVE the drivers and correct sound card, then you need software like Audacity (available here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and change the input setting to "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" (depending on the sound card.)

Good luck!

What good jobs can you get with graphic design?
Q. I'm 15 years old but my guidance counselor wants me to start thinking about what i want to do for college. I really like photoshop and i also think working for a video game company would be fun as well. I was just wondering if there were any good jobs that pay well that you use graphic design?

A. The T-Shirt Screen Printing field is an option for any Graphic Designer, and you do not necessarily need any degree at all. Proficiency in Corel Draw and to a lesser extent Photoshop are both important. Also an understanding of how the Screen Printing process works is very useful, as making a design look good when Printing on T-Shirts and other apparel isn't always the same as making it look good on a computer monitor.

There are Screen Printing companies everywhere, from small 1 or 2 person shops to large Printing Warehouses with quite a few artists. I'm not sure if this is appealing to you or not but knowing how many people are in the Graphic Design field and how competitive it can be, as well as the number of independent Screen Printing shops, I think Graphic Designers in general would be well advised to explore this area. As I said, to be a successful Screen Printing Graphic Design Artist you must have some understanding of the Screen Printing process so that the artwork you create will print easily and well. Here's an article that describes some of the Screen Printing Process:

http://shirtartinc.blogspot.com/2010/01/custom-screen-printing-101-how-it-works.html

Here's a forum for some general info:
http://forums.screenprinters.net/

As far as paying well, to a large extent that will depend on how good you are. Graphic Design is a competitive field, and artists historically don't make tons of money, but the really top level Graphic Designers can make a good salary. So if you start learning now you should do well.

Good Luck

what you think of this Triangulation Paper?
Q. (Jains, 2012)Annalisa Marino

Can You Find Me Now?
How is a Nintendo Will fame console able to determine of a Wii Remote while a player interacts with a game? The answer is triangulation, a process that determines the location of an object by measuring the angles from two or more fixed points.
Surveyors often use triangulation to measure distance. Staring at a known location and elevation, surveyors measure a length to create a base line and then use a theodolite to measure an angle to an unknown point from each side of the base line. (Jains, pp. 30-48). The length of the base line and the two known angles allow a computer or person to determine the location of a third point.
Similarly, the Nintendo Will fame console uses triangulation to determine the location of a Wii Remote. A player places a sensor bar, which contains two infrared transmitters, near or top of a television. While the player uses the Wii Remote, calculating determines the remote’s location by calculating the distance and angles between the Wii Remote and the two transmitters on the sensor bar. Deterring the location of a Wii Remote is relatively simple because the sensor bar contains only two fixed points: the transmitters.
A more complex application of triangulation occurs in global positioning system (GPS). A GPS consists of one or more earth-based receivers that accept and analyze signals sent by satellites to determine a receiver’s geographic location. GPS receivers, found in handheld navigation determine their location relative to at least three geostationary satellites. According to Sanders, the geostationary satellites are the fixed points in the triangulation formula and then (Understanding Satellites and Global Positioning Systems).
The next time you pass a surveyor, play a Nintendo Wii or follow a route suggested by a vehicle’s navigation system, keep in mind that none of it might have been possible without the concept of triangulation.

A. I'm pretty sure your premise about the Wii Remote using triangulation is flawed. To preform triangulation you measure 2 or more angles to a point and calculate it's position. In a Wii remote this is exactly backwards, there are 2 fixed points and the Wii remotes camera estimates a relative angle and distance off it but not it's position.

If the 2 dots are close then the remote is far away, if they are far apart then the remote is close. If the dots are at an angle then the remote is twisted, if they are at the top of the camera view then the remote is low or angled down, etc. This is not really triangulation .

Think about this... say you keep the Wii Remote pointed directly at the sensor bar while moving it up and down around it in a perfect circle. The 2 dots that the IR camera sees would appear to never move and it would have no idea that the remote was now 10 feet away from where it started. With a true triangulation setup it would most definitely know. The Wii remote relies on help from acceleration sensors to fill in this missing information.

I want a good gaming computer for around 500-600 dollars?

Q. I would like a gaming computer that could run minecraft, Arma 2, and Guild Wars 2 with high graphics. Can anyone help me with specs that include a monitor recommendation?

A. this is a 540$hp, currently out of stock but you can find it in other stores, can cerntanly play low-mid end games such as minecraft armour 2 and others , thats the whole reason i bougth it,

check out game debate, there you can search up games requirments and you will see the desktop below beats them or is right below them but not by much and you can always upgrade the graphics card and maybe do crossfire and play games like skyrim gta5 saints row 3, not that you cant already with the below desktop just that you will probably have to sacrifice some graphics in order to play with decent game frames but i assume not by much

AMD Radeon HD 7560D Discrete Graphics With up to 4059MB total available graphics memory it has way better graphics unit then a GeForce 310 by far and i mean it beats the crap out of the 310.

and it has AMD Quad-Core A8-5500 Accelerated processor 3.20GHz, 4MB L2 Cache which also beats the crap out of most i5 processors but some i5 processors are stil la bit better, depends on which,

even though it has no screens you can fijnd a pretty good one for $88 which would put you around for $630 in total ,
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-Exact-model-may-vary/21009304 , this is a very high deph screen and pretty decent size for $88, that is cheap compared to the others i researched , the 1280 x 1024 resolution is pretty mighty plus the dvi-d fits the desktop
heres some general info

AMD Quad-Core A8-5500 Accelerated processor
3.20GHz, 4MB L2 Cache

8GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 32GB)
Gives you the power to handle most power-hungry applications and tons of multimedia work

1TB SATA hard drive
Store 666,000 photos, 285,000 songs or 526 hours of HD video and more

SuperMulti DVD Burner
Watch movies, and read and write CDs and DVDs in multiple formats

10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN

AMD Radeon HD 7560D Discrete Graphics
With up to 4059MB total available graphics memory

now if you dont beielve this one is better then the one mentioned by the other guy look the parts up here http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ for the video cards, the one in this hp are in the high end and the geforce 310 are in medium- range, http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ , for hte cpu, there are a lot of i5 processors but only one a8-5500 , quick way to search them is clicking ctrl+ f then just type in the main namel ike a8-5500 and bam.

Pros and cons of using a computer monitor for console gaming?

Q. I'm debating getting a computer monitor (specifically a 24 inch Samsung LED monitor) for my Xbox 360 and PS3 (and to use my computer on) and I am wondering about the pros and cons of gaming on it.

I can only think of pros (high resolution, fast response time, cheaper) but I am sure there are some cons.

Any opinions on this?

A. pros its better for gaming as better respond time, allot cheaper 23" monitor £120 1080p
cons most don't have speakers so need a different sound system
i use a 23" monitor and a pair of speakers and work Great

Is it possible to connect a PS3 to a lone HD computer monitor?
Q. I know you can't connect a game system to a laptop but I was wondering if it was possible to do this with a Computer monitor. The monitor isn't intergrated with the cpu obviously so I would guess that I could. I appreciate the help.

A. Yes, i use an HDMI wire from my ps3 to monitor, make sure yours has an hdmi port.. The speakers in the monitor kinda suck for me so i use the standard AV cables for sound, but HDMI for video
