High value gaming computers?

Q. I'm looking for some high value gaming computers. Some thing that can play high end games like elder scrolls oblivion and battlefield two etc with high quality. You of course are going to be paying more for a gaming computer, but I'm not listing a budget since I recently found a computer meant for gaming with some items in it costing $900. This computer's specs were around the same as one costing $2500. So uh, not really listing any price ranges here. Looking for good quality but not something very high price range, any help with video cards and other compatibility would be appreciated

A. If you want the best deal for you money and are willing to spend a little time setting it up, building your own computer is nearly always your best bet. I spent about $700 on my current computer, a comparable computer through dell would've cost me $2300. Anyway I went through www.newegg.com but there are many other computer parts distributers.

I knew nothing about building a computer, and even less about the parts that make one up, but everything in newegg is made for first timers. Everything you need is there, with customer reviews and what parts are compatible with what, it is an excellent way to build a lighting fast machine for a fraction of the cost

Good value gaming computer?
Q. I want to get a gaming laptop, i prefer a bigger screen but doesn't matter too much. Doesn't need a disk drive, needs wireless. I want to be able to run crysis or at least mw2 on high or very high graphics, my budget is $1500 but prefer getting one under $1000 if possible. Also i want a 320 GB hard drive at least. Thank you.

A. I have a few that I would recommend and they have great price tags:

ASUS Republic of Gamers G51JX-A1 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop (Blue)
*Intel Core i7-720QM Processor 1.6GHz with turbo boost up to 2.8GHz
*6GB DDR3 1066MHz DRAM, 2 slots, 8GB Max

What is a really good gaming computer ?

Q. So I used to be on top of all the gaming news in the world but I kinda quite with computer games and went to consol games. Recently i have been missing the computer games and all I have to play is a 6 year old computer.
I have a mac but that can run games anywhere near as good as I would like it to.
I kno of a lot of companies that make amazing gaming computers. Like alienware but I was just going to ask are there any good gaming computers out there for a relatively low price??? Thanks for any answers!

A. Have you considered building your own gaming computer? It would be much cheaper than buying one from a company, such as alienware, that puts it together for you. You can go to newegg.com and buy the parts listed below for 2 different good gaming computers. The first gaming computer can run most games like WoW, allods, cally of duty, HON, SC2 etc at a little less than max graphics pretty well. The second custom computer can basically run any game you throw at it on max graphics at over 60FPS easily.

This computer set-up will cost roughly $500.

Best computers for gaming?
Q. What's the best computer out there for playing games? I've recently landed a good paying career and I want to indulge myself a bit. So what's the best out there? Like for playing games like World of Warcraft, or Runescape. Or even like playing role playing games on my computer. I want something fairly fast without a lot of lag.

I've heard of alienware computers, but I want to know if they're all hype or are they worth the money?

A. Just build yourself a computer, man. You don't need an alienware for WoW or runescape :p plus, they're outrageously overpriced. All you'll need is mid range hardware.
Oh what the hell I'll build it for you.

You'll also need to get yourself a copy of windows (or your prefered OS) and you're all set.

Got a Concussion a little over a week ago.. Possible Problems?

Q. Nov. 25, 2012 I hit my head on a concrete wall while standing on a chair.. My head has been hurting me ever since. It doesn't hurt as bad as it did but my boyfriend says i toss, turn and whine at night while im sleeping and im slurring my words. Should i go to the hospital or is this normal?

A. While going to the hospital wouldn't hurt, they really wouldn't be able to do much except confirm the fact.. which is fine if the symptoms are bad enough where you can go to school or work.

If you had a bleed you'd have already shown worsening symptoms or died.

The head pain is common, means you still have a concussion. Feel free to take something like Tylenol for the pain. Try to stay away from computer/cell phone/video games. Don't exercise.

Take breaks from whatever you're doing if your headache gets worse. If for some reason things start to get really bad, or you start feeling nauseous, blurry vision, hit your head again, then go to the hospital.

How do i get my sister to quit WoW? (don't click if you're not patient and please answer seriously?
Q. Hello,My name is Andrew.(In advance,my English isn't the best,i'm 15 and from Serbia,what can you expect? :P)
I'm from Serbia and i'm 15 years old. When i was 12,i discovered a game called "World of Warcraft" and i started playing it.It wasn't very addictive at start and i didn't play it too often.I reached level 80 when i was about 13 years old and that's where the game got very addictive.I would normally play for hours doing dungeons, playing battlegrounds and stuff like that. But when i was about 13 and a half years old (about 6 months after i turned level 80) i had a decently geared character and played even more.In some of those days,my sister saw me play the game and after seeing my mount (invincible) which is a horse (btw. she loves horses) she took an interest in trying the game out.I let her play almost every day on my account a bit,and she loved the game,so she decided to get herself a account. She made multiple characters with different classes and started leveling and playing the game. When she finally reached level 80,she got addicted to the game, meanwhile,i deleted my account and all my characters because i understood the game was making me lose a lot of my free-time,but she didn't quit.In the early days, when her gear wasn't really that strong, she wasn't so "aggressive" as she is these days...today,while i was asking her questions about her character, she refused to answer. All i did was just ask "put the mouse on your tremor totem,i want to see something" and she just said no and i said "it's just one second, just move your mouse!" and then she took her headphones, threw them at me,took her chair, threw that too lol,and i couldn't just stand there and get "beaten" by her just for asking something,so i slapped her..because..well she deserved it..This wasn't really the first time she's done something like this, one time i told her that she should spend less time with her game and more time outside like before i showed her the game, and she took my pencils and things i had on my table and threw them at me O.o .I don't know if this has anything to do with our parents wanting to get a divorce, summer 2012,because there was a lot of yelling and violence those days..but it's all okay now :/ And i know some of my sentences don't make sense in English, but neither do they make sense in Serbian,i was always a shy kid :p
But after quitting WoW i made a lot of new friends and i even started working out, studying more and my life got much better. But things don't look so bright for my sister...so please guys, tell me,how do i make her quit? i've tried telling her how my life has gotten better after quitting, but she just didn't listen...and again, sorry for my bad English :)

A. no your english is more than fine, look i was addicted with minecraft at one point. just go cold turkey with her. limit her internet and dont let her use the computer. put a password on it so she cant get on. she might just go to the library or something to play(which is what i did, pretty patethic huh?). so change her accounts password. she might scream and fight like a child but shell get a new hobby soon. gl :)

can you connect a turtle beach gaming headset to your computer?

Q. it is an XLC Xbox 360 headset

A. Yes, just plug in the long cable to the green jack on your computer. If you need the mic to work too, then you'll have to get a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm female/male adapter to plug into the pink jack on your computer.

If i have bluetooth on my computer can I use a bluetooth headset to make calls and video game talking?
Q. I want to get a headset to play online games and do VOIP with. I already have bluetooth headset and I was wondering that if I purchase a bluetooth transmitter for my computer if I would be able to do those functions with my current headset.

A. Yes you would. You'd just have to make sure your bluetooth dongle for your computer is set up properly with all the proper drivers and what not. Then just sync your headset with your computer and you should be able to use it. Depending on the drivers that your bluetooth dongle uses though, it may be completely painless, or it may require some tinkering on your part. It also partially depends on your headset.

One thing you'd want to look out for if you're planning on playing online games with it is that you'd want to set up your sound to go to your speakers instead of the headset, unless you have a stereo headset (sound goes to both ears) then you'll want to make sure you purchase a bluetooth dongle that supports A2DP which will allow you to use your bluetooth headset with stereo sound.

Is this a good gaming computer setup?

Q. EVGA nforce 780i SLI Motherboard
XFX GeForce GTX 295 Video Card
Corsair TX650W 650-Watt Power Supply
Intel Core i7 920 Processor
Crucial Ballistix Dual Channel 2048MB PC16000 DDR3 2000Mhz Memory (2x1024MB)
Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 Sound Card
Seagate Barracuda ES.2 500GB Hard Drive
Ultra / ChillTec / Socket 939/775/AM2 / Thermal Electric CPU Cooler
ThermalTake Tsunami Series Aluminum ATX Mid-Tower Case
Acer AL2216WBD 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard

what else do i need to make the computer run, and sorry i am not so good with computers

A. The computer is certainly going to be a gaming beast, but it's overkill, and you could rearrange you budget a bit better for pure gaming.

Frankly it looks like you've got money to burn, and you want an all-around fast computer, not necessarily focussed on gaming

EVGA with 780i chipset doesn't do DDR3 or i7, I am pretty sure.

FOR GAMING: I still wouldn't go with the i7 (e8400/e8500 save $100), or DDR3 (save $100 and get 2GB or 4GB of fast DDR2), or a discrete soundcard (save around $175, use onboard), or a TEC cooler (save $100 and get sunbeam direct contact aircooler)

Between that and the lower-end DDR2 motherboard, you should save $500 or more, which is a major monitor and/or video card upgrade. That will improve your gaming more than the parts I downgraded would have. Of course, much more in the video card, and you may actually want to go bigger on power supply - those high end cards claim to pull close to 300W (which is more than my entire system)!

That 22" monitor is gonna be pretty sad looking next to such a beast of a PC. Monitors are very important to the overall enjoyment of your computer - do NOT skimp here. This may sound crazy, but I'd suggest budgeting about 1/3 of your total budget on the monitor(s). Next year this will be an ordinary gaming machine, but a big nice monitor will *still* kick butt.

Also, your storage is gonna be the slowest part of this system. Consider a Velociraptor, SSD, or maybe even RAID (Intel Matrix RAID is built into high end Intel chipsets, and can be faster than hell - but I think you can only get it with Crossfire, not SLi)

Whats the cheapest gaming computer setup?
Q. Cheapest setup rig?
Custom Ram,
Video card,
and Cooler fans.

A. I wouldn't say there is a cheapest gaming computer setup because, there are thousands of possibilities.
If you're looking to play today's heavy duty game, it's going to cost you a little more.

I would suggest you go to http://www.newegg.com and do a little shopping around there for parts that would suit your needs for a gaming computer,

If you're looking for performance, and to save money, I would recommend an AMD based pc

but for today's games, you would at least need, a dual core processor, 2+ gigs of ram, and a 512mb video card (DX9 compatible)

Computer power supply?

Q. Say I get like 750 wat power supply, and I plug in all neccessary items for like a 400 or 500watt computer, what will happen, also what will happen if the power supply is below the 400 or 500watt on a 400-500 watt computer

A. The rating is the maximum power that the power supply can supply.

If the computer uses less than the maximum, the power supply will supply what the computer uses.

If the computer uses more than the maximum, the power supply will overheat and die, or it will shut down.

Most switching power supplies will just shut down. So when your graphics card starts using more power to play a game and pushes the total power usage over the maximum, the power supply will shut off and then turn back on. Your computer will unexpectedly reboot.

Gaming computer Power Supply?
Q. I need a 1000 watt power supply under $300.

i need a modular psu. The quiter the better. I want a very reliable one that will last a while. effecient. Enviornement friendly would be nice (but don't rule out any good power supplies for this)

which of these are better?

http://www.corsair.com/products/hx1000/default.aspx

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/power_management/ocz_z_series_1000w_modular

if there is anything better than this please give a link. Also if you chose i would appreciate a reason why its good. thanks

A. Well it sounds like the ocz psu wins out over the corsair in terms of sales pitch. Corsair has a much better reputation for consistent performance and I think ocz is a new comer to the power supply game. But I have ocz memory which is very good, reliable, stable memory.

This is what OCZ says about warrenty:

OCZ Technology Group offers a 3 or 5 year PowerSwap® Warranty on all PSUs

All OCZ Power Supply Families feature an exclusive warranty that allows you to "swap out" a defective power supply, without the need to wait on the repair of your defective unit. This eliminates the hassle of return-for-repair loops that other companies put you through, saving you time and ensuring you will receive a 100% hand tested, fully functioning unit as a replacement. Your defective power supply can be returned for replacement at any time within the specified warranty period. All replacements are guaranteed to operate without issue and to full specification. (3 & 5 year warrenty).

Here is what Corsair says about warrenty:

Five year limited warranty with 24/7 on demand customer service

So it appears that OCZ has 3 AND 5 year warrenties. While Corsair backs theirs for a FULL 5 years.

You might want to call OCZ and find out which warrenty period your OCZ psu has.

I say, "PUT UP OR SHUT UP" when it comes to warrenty.

In reality, both supplies look good, its just stacking up the features against each other...

I think you will do well with either one...so TOSS A COIN! LOL :)

What do you think is an Ideal Budget Gaming Computer (300-400 American Dollars)?

Q. Even though I am letting the public decide the computer, I have standards.
What I need it to do:
~Play BF3 with a decent FPS and possibly Stream/Record with FRAPS or some other program.

~Must play Minecraft/Tekkit with smooth precise no jitters, no drops in FPS, and no spikes in CPU Usage.

~64Bit. Don't know of a gaming computer that is otherwise. But.. Just to be sure.

~At least 6-8GB of RAM. Can get me 12 for 40 dollars more? Go ahead. I need this to host a server on my computer For Minecraft and BF3, and of course to make my video games and tutorials. Universal help.

~Single Graphics Card. I know it will break the bank with 2 graphics card. 1 GOOD graphics card is fine, must meet the specs above of course.

~Ablility to run Xfire/Skype/TeamSpeak/Steam/A Good Load bearing game at the same time, basically a decent processor and ram.

~Windows 8 if possible. :L

~If in the budget. Keyboard + Mouse. I already have a 31' Screen.

Also, do this only if you WANT to and have the TIME. Please don't waste either of our time.
That doesn't help answer my question. :|

A. Several issues here.
When you refer to "American Dollars", there is a better than even chance you are not in the United States and would even accept a bet that you could not even buy a PC in the USA.

When you put the range at $300 to $400, the correct way is a budget PC that can play some older games. That price is below anything to call a gaming PC.
Until they sell out, there is a strange deal at Tigerdirect for $500
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7375900&CatId=2627
It costs about $600 to build it from parts at their best prices at retail discount.
Has an i5-3450 and HD 7570/1GB and 8GB RAM and a 2TB HDD and wireless.
I think the graphics has issues sometimes so they are dumping them cheap. That is a cheap gaming PC.
Windows in a system costs about $90 so to build your own at your top end $400 you are squeezing the heck out of it.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sOzd
This is a build your own taking the cheapest stuff that appears to work.
The motherboard at newegg includes free 8GB of ram for a short time.
The A10-5800K includes HD 7660D graphics
The power supply seems to function though cannot add a graphics card if any wattage.
The case works
It includes Windows and can get a keyboard and mouse and stay at $400 without a monitor, speakers, but that is only taking advantage of every special and using the cheapest stuff otherwise.

Stuck at $400 and can't build one?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113194
Not a gaming pc
A8-3820 with AMD Radeon HD 6550D in a slimline that is tough to upgrade.

Play BF3 with a decent FPS? possibly. Recording will cut the heck out of the frame rate at this price point. The build your own should get low settings at a workable frame rate.
The 6550D is probably not enough but is a maybe.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
Add: This site says the A8-3820 is enough to play:
http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=1164&game=Battlefield+3&p_make=AMD&p_deriv=Llano+Lynx+A8-3820+Quad+Core&gc_make=ATI&gc_deriv=Radeon+HD+6550D&ram=6&checkSubmit=#systemRequirements

You either have to raise your budget, build your own for a short time during the newegg special of free ram that I thought is already ended but still shows as available, or take what you get at the top end. Maybe look for used PCs in Craigslist or ebay
CPU and graphics scores can be found here:
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
You need a G3D at about 700 or more to play and CPU over 2500 Passmark as a rough guess.
This is reality. You are at gaming console pricing - not gaming PC pricing.

How can I build a decent gaming computer with 300 dollars?
Q. Anyone have any ideas? My ideal specs are
2GHz CPU motherboard
256 or maybe even 512MB VRAM that's good for gaming that's not high end quality.
Maybe 100GB of HDD but 80 will work.
CD/DVD R/RW must have that.

Anyone have any ideas of builds?
Oh and note how I said I'm not going to play the NEWEST games available. I'm not going to touch Age of Conan or even World of Warcraft anytime soon. I just want one that's way better compared to my current build, which has a sad 32MB integrated video card.

A. $300 isn't enough for a gaming computer. You'll end up with something low end if you put so little money into parts, or you'll have to skimp in areas where money was allocated to more important components.

I put together a comp on newegg for $322, excluding shipping/tax, but by no means is it a gaming computer. It's fine for vista general use, etc, but I doubt it will get you the newest games at good resolutions.

Doesn't include OS or monitor, because it would be next to impossible to fit both of those on top of a computer for 300 D:

Btw, this is just a quick build. I'd need more time to look over it to check all the compatibilities, etc.

Help build GAMING computer?

Q. Can someone recommend computer parts I could buy for GAMING? I have around $1,000 plus or minus a few hundred to spend on the rig. What are the best components that you could recommend that can handle most games on ultra settings? Links would be nice! Thanks :O

i.e. skyrim, starcraft 2, diablo 3, crysis, etc

A. Best gaming PC build for the money:

Buy all parts on newegg.com, they even have instructional videos on how to build a PC:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw&feature=player_embedded
All prices are in $USD, from newegg.com, and current as of April 2012.

PROCESSOR: Best budget processor: Intel Core i3-2130 ($150) - best budget 4 threads, dual core processor.
Best value and performance processor: Intel Core i5-2500K quad core ($220)
Best in class, price accessible processor: Intel Core i7-2600K quad core ($320)
CPU COOLER: Get a good after market processor heat sink and 120mm fan. The stock Intel CPU cooler is crap.
Either a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or Sunbeam Twister 120 - Cost $35 to $50
Or you can get a water cooler, like Corsair H60 or H80 ($70 or $105)
MOTHERBOARD: For any processor above, get a motherboard with socket LGA1155 and chipset Z68, at least this $120 GIGABYTE GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128495
MEMORY (RAM): Both the processor and the motherboard feature fast dual channel memory, so only buy RAM in identical pairs, to enable dual channel memory operation.
Get 8GB (two x 4GB) DDR3 1600 G.Skill Ripjaws X Series or Corsair Vengeance ($50)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428 (8GB two x 4GB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345 (8GB two x 4GB)
GRAPHICS CARD: at least a GeForce GTX460 Fermi or AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6790 (or better), choose any with a 2200 score or higher from this benchmark list:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
The best graphics card would be GeForce GTX680 or GTX580
HARD DRIVE (HDD): 1TB Seagate Barracuda or Samsung Spinpoint SATA III (6.0Gb/s) 7200rpm, 64MB Cache hard drive ($115)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840
PSU: A good power supply, 600 watts or bigger (depends on the graphics card you choose), 80 plus certified form Thermaltake, Enermax, Cooler Master, Antech, Corsair or OCZ.
PC CASE: Any PC Case (full or mid tower), with bottom mount for the power supply, either ATX or μATX (micro ATX) size.
I recommend either any of the Sentey Series (Sentey Extreme Division Arvina is what I got) or Cooler Master HAF ($60 to $150)
http://www.newegg.com/Store/Brand.aspx?Brand=13670&name=The-Sentey-at-Newegg&Tpk=Sentey
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=haf&x=0&y=0
OPTICAL DRIVE: any cheap $15 to $25 DVD multi writer drive
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM for your operating system ($100):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986

Cost: From $800 on up to over $1500, depending on processor, graphics card, power supply and case you choose.

A good, full HD 1080p (1920x1080), LED backlit 27inch monitor will cost you around $260 to over $300.
Any cheap USB mouse and keyboard for about $30 to $50, or spend more for expensive gaming style ones.

Good luck.

Best Gaming Desktop Computer for $800?
Q. I'm still browsing around for the computer I'm getting on Christmas and I was wondering if anyone could link me a good gaming desktop computer for under $800?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229196R

Isn't this better than that anyways? Same graphics, same RAM, more GHz.. o _o

A. Check Centaurus Computers - they have much higher quality than Cyber/ipower. They also overclock for free - and it makes a big difference - 20-30% boost to the CPU and GPU can change your game. They ship free and build fast.
For $800 I recommend AMD Phenom II X4 machines with 4GB DDR3 and any video card like GT 240 or ATI 5670, better with ATI 5750 or GTS 450.
Send them an email and ask for any promotions - they offer a lot of staff as a free upgrades.

Q. so i been trying to find a computer online for gaming, i want it to be decent and cost arround $700, i dont care about the monitor i just want it to come witha keyboard and mouse, i been looking on for about 2 months now but still cant find one, one time i found one but its out of stock now, if it can run almost any recent game like bf3 or far cry 3, crysis 3 on ultra settings it would be great.i have been lookin in iBUYPOWER , NEWEGG, ETC. please someone help me! i really dont want to build one

A. ULTRA SETTINGS ON A $700 COMPUTER????
Good luck with that.....

Around $700 you are barely in the low budget gaming computer area....

Also, a gaming computer is NOT something you buy.
You either build it yourself or custom order from a reputable builder like AVA Direct, iBuyPower or CyberPowerPC

Here is the best low budget gaming PC you can build for around $750:

Yahoo answers will only allow up to 10 links, so I have to leave out the not so important components. Just copy paste in the search field on Newegg to find them, I will give the full name but no link for those.

BEST BUDGET GAMING DESKTOP PC BUILD FOR THE MONEY (under $750.00USD for the tower only)
Monitor, keyboard and mouse can add from $175 to over $500, depending on size and model you want.
All prices are in $USD and in the USA, current as of December 2012 and they might be slightly different one way or the other by now.
Also, some shipping charges may apply to some of the items.
Add your state sales tax if you reside in NJ, CA or TN - that's where Newegg has warehouses.
Look for similar parts on Amazon, Tiger Direct, etc if you want to avoid paying Uncle Sam.

FACT: INTEL IS A MUCH BETTER PROCESSOR FOR GAMING THAN ANY AMD.

Getting a computer. HELP?
Q. I have a few computers here that I thought about getting.
Before I show them I think you would need to know what I plan on doing with it.

What I plan on doing some editing and maybe some graphic too, so I would need a fast processer for one, run the programs smoothly, and two, render my creations nice and clear.

I also plan on doing a bit of gaming(maybe some Minecraft and Blacklight). I wasn't planning on playing BF3 or COD or anything on it. I am already a console gamer and I'm fine with that already. ALTHOUGH, I have thought about switching over to PC or playing both. So keep an open mind about that....not important though.

I also dont have a mouse and keyboard

Lastly, I'm going to need as much memory as I can get. Im going to be downloading a bit of large programs(I can already think of 5 or 7). Plus, I will have lots of 1GB files.

So here's the computers:

What kind of laptop would be good for computer games?
Q. I like to play The Sims 2/3 and Nancy Drew computer games. I want a relatively cheap and good laptop for that purpose along with internet surfing, obviously. I would prefer for it to be available in stores. :)
Oops. I forgot to add that stuff. I would prefer for it to be Toshiba if that is possible, relatively light in weight, the battery life I really don't know, and I would prefer it be $0-$300 if that is possible. It doesn't necessarily have to be a gaming computer though. My cousin has a Toshiba laptop that she got for Christmas and she has around probably 20 Sims 2 games on her Toshiba...

A. Asus G74/G73 Available at your local Best Buy.

Since you did not list the basics of a laptop recommendation question, I.E preferred price, size, brand, specs, battery life, functionality, then I am just throwing my out some pennies. You did list the games you want to play, but how well you want to play them will remain unknown.

Alienware laptops are decent, though I can not and will not provide a biased opinion because I have never owned one. I mean, they are pretty ;) http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu114/jessybish/IMG_0307.jpg

Though I am not saying the G73/G74 isn't sexy :D
http://h8.abload.de/img/6si1o9.jpg

But it all comes down to performance. I want a beast gaming machine that looks as great as it performs.

Will computer games work on eMachine system?

Q. I bought a new computer and its system name is 'eMachines'. Then played The Sims 2 and I got blurry graphic and I can't see anything clearly. Please help. Did I buy a wrong computer?

A. The make of the computer doesint matter, its the chips inside that do.
The two things could be your screen is very low resolution, or your computer chips are low power. another possibility is the sims 2 settings are set to a low graphics setting.

First I would check the graphics settings on your game, if possible raise the settings, if the game doesint lag/freeze, then your good.
If the game lags/freezes or doesint get any better looking with the highest settings then you should check your screens resolution, graphics chip, ram chips, and processors. compare yours to what is recommended by the game. (can normally be found on the back of the game box or at the games web site)
then it may be as simple as just buying a single new chip for your computer. The people at bestbuy can also help you choose the best chips for your computer and instal them for you (although they normally charge extra for instal)

Help with Computer headset for gaming?

Q. Well im getting a Turtle Beach Ear Force Z1 for my first headset for gaming and i just wanna know one thing, What do the Headset USB Adapters do? cause i wand to have music coming out of my speakers and sub woofers but still chat with my friends online, that means i dont want the music coming out of my headset i was my friends voices coming out the headset and thats it. Now if i want that to happen do i get a Headset USB adapter like the Turtle Beach Amigo II or are there other ways to do this

A. You can select what hardware device is used for which purpose in the Control Panel if you are running Windows.

In the Control Panel, select 'Sound'. Just set your speakers as the default device for sound output, and the headset for voice recording/input. You can talk all you want and sound will still come from the speakers.

You don't necessarily need a USB headset to do this. Even analog (headset-jack type) mics can be setup this way. Windows just needs to recognize that there is some kind of headset/mic installed on the computer.

Will a Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset work on my computer?
Q. I was wondering if there are specific requirements for the X12s.
I have an Acer Aspire M5800.

A. It should work. But trust me, gaming headsets are a waste of money. Just giving you a bit more of a surround sound, even though most sound cards can simulate the same experience with a normal headset.

Plus gaming headsets are designed to break after a certain time, so the customer will have to buy a new one.

How sad is it the Obama administration is asking moms to tell their adult children to sign up for Obamacare?

Q. White House press secretary Jay Carney on Monday said the administration is calling on moms to get their adult children "off the couch and on the computer to enroll" in ObamaCare before the March 31 deadline.

The White House spokesman was asked why the administration was spending the week targeting mothers in an enrollment push when women were among the president's strongest supporters during the 2012 election.
"We're not," Carney said. "We're calling on moms to reach out to their adult children, get them off the couch and on the computer to enroll and make sure that they have quality affordable health insurance, because ... a lot of young folks, because they're young and healthy today, think they're invincible and are not fully aware of the need to have quality affordable health insurance because, you know, they're an accident away or an illness away from needing it very much."

A. This statement is completely and totally false.

Because Liberals don't consider them to be adults until they are 27 years old. By the way, they aren't on the couch, they are sitting in their video game chairs in the basement playing Call of Duty. They will only get up tomorrow to go to GameSpot tomorrow to pick up Titanfall.

Q. I have a game that's already installed on my computer...and I have the CD. If I install the software onto my hard drive...will I need the CD?

The reason I ask is because I'd like to play the same game on a different computer...but I only have the one CD.

A. you said you already installed the game on your computer,so the game is already on your hard drive. You can play the game on a different computer ,you just have to install it again, this time on the computer you wanna play it,and yes you need the cd to play it,unless you make an image of it.

question concerning multiple hard drives on a gaming computer?
Q. i am in the middle of a gaming pc build and was debating whether to get a large hard drive or run 2 smaller ones. ive heard that if you install your os (vista) and other software on one and keep games and other media on the other one, it is actually faster than having just one large hard drive.

any help will be much appreciated

A. Well in my computer builds I usually have my games and OS installed on a smaller faster HDD usually like a WD Velociraptor but more recently I've moved over to a SSD then I'll have like a large 1TB HDD for my movies, music, other data.

When people use two smaller HDDs to achieve greater speed they're probably running it in Raid 0 format.

Gaming Computer Help?
Q. hey
i want a gaming pc for 800 dollars
that can run lots of games full high settings
can u list parts and links for the newegg websites that all work together
u will get best answer :)
this is my first build and i am kind of lost so i need help
thnx

A. $800 isn't very much for a gaming computer these days, but a lot of it boils down to personal preference as well as parts you already have. Odds are that you already have a display that you can use, but even if you're looking to buy a new one, I can't tell you which one to buy because you may be willing to spend more money on a big screen than me.

The motherboard and processor are the most important things to look at. Right now Intel processors are the best for gaming, but a Core 2 Quad processor will cost you quite a bit and a Core i7 will cost even more. At the very least get a good Core 2 Duo. Whatever you choose, just make sure that your motherboard is made for your processor, or that your processor is made for your motherboard. For example, Core 2 Quads use an LGA 775 socket, so you would want to make sure that your motherboard also uses an LGA 775 socket. Your motherboard also needs to have an ATX form factor. Most desktop motherbaords are ATX though so don't worry about it too much. PCI-express is standard on most motherboards, but whether or not you care about having more than one PCI-express slot depends on whether or not you plan on having one or two graphics cards. A fast FSB (front-side bus) will help your processor perform better, but you need to balance its speed with your budget. For a gaming computer you'll probably want 4 slots. You'll probably only use one or two slots at first, but you may want to upgrade later.

If you buy a Core 2 Duo processor, you can probably get away with DDR2 memory, but if you buy a Core 2 Quad, make sure your motherboard supports DDR3 and that you buy DDR3 memory. You should have 2 GB at the minimum, but you could easily justify taking it up into the 4-8GB range.

SATA is standard in all computers now, so don't worry too much about checking for it on the motherboard, but do check to make sure that your hard drive supports SATA. The RPMs on your hard drive are also important. For a gaming computer make sure to get one that spins at 7200, but if you want even better performance, there are hard drives that spin at 10,000 or even 15,000 RPMs. 300 GB is more than I use right now, but hard drives easily go up above 1,000 GB (1 Terabyte) now, so choose a hard drive based on whether you plan on playing games or playing games and storing lots of DVDs on it.

Your graphics card is also extremely important, but can also be one of the most expensive parts. Lots of memory is good in a graphics card, but more important is the chipset it uses. Typically the higher number means a better card, but you may want to look it up for yourself because of how much of a difference it can make both in performance and in your wallet. The output of your graphics card is paramount. HDMI is great for some computer displays, especially because you can also use an HDTV with it, but maybe that's not important to you. DVI is pretty standard, but it's still something to check for if your display uses a DVI input. But maybe your display uses an older VGA connector. Check for it. If you plan on using two graphics cards, make sure it supports SLI for nVidia cards or Crossfire for ATI cards, and the two types are NOT compatible with each other.

A good DVD burner should be standard, and maybe you can cannibalize one from an older computer, but if feel like it's important, Blu-ray readers and even burners are available. Some Blu-ray readers are available for less than $100.

I've never gone super-extreme in building gaming computers, so for me a standard case and power supply is just fine, but make sure that your case is able to stay cool. Lots of fans don't necessarily mean that it'll keep your insides cool, and sometimes those fans just generate lots of extra noise. You'll also pay a premium for extreme designs. It's all up to you on what kind of case you want.

I realize I haven't given you a straight answer for anything, but the hunt for parts can be half the fun in building your own gaming PC, and hopefully you now know enough to customize your computer to your liking.

Computers pre-built meant for gaming under 600$?

Q. I was planning on getting this: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/LAN_III_Mini-I, but I don't know what things to add to it. Are there any computers under 600$ that can run Far Cry 3 decently? I asked a question earlier about that computer, but I don't know if it's the best one to get or not, and I have no idea what to add to it. I have absolutely no idea, at all, no idea, how to build a computer, but if you can give me a link to the most exact tutorial in the world, I might be able to. Like, really exact, I have no idea at all how to build a computer, it seems like a very confusing thing. I'd need a link to all parts and everything and a tutorial with putting it together. If anyone has a link to a pre-built under 600$, that would be better.

A. For this, you'd likely want to build your own. It's truly quite easy and there are THOUSANDS of online tutorials to do it. Pre-build computers are usually WAAAAY overpriced. Alienware computers include.

So please, consider looking into selecting parts and building one yourself. You can even talk to people online who know things about computers who can help you select parts AND build it.

Best gaming computer under 600 dollars?
Q. It needs to be able to run minecraft over 125 fps, have fast internet, good memory, play other games great too, it doesn't matter whether it is a laptop or a desktop just as long as it meets my requirements.

A. If you want a killer gaming pc then increase your budget a bit, around $1000 will buy you a nice gaming pc which can run almost any game available at decent fps.

Following is config i would suggest(I own this config pc and i know it runs everything so good)

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core ($209.99)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660, GDDR 5, 2 GB, PCI 3 ($200)
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz ($66.98)
BenQ VA LED GW2255 21.5-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor ($130.77)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) ($66.24)
A compatible mother board and other things will cost around another 200$

And if you want to stick with 600$ budget then compromise on few things.
Intel Core i3-2120 Dual-Core Processor 3.3 GHz 3 MB Cache LGA 1155 ($122.37)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 650, GDDR 5, 1 GB, PCI 3 ($109.99$)
Corsair Vengeance 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz ($ 38)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) ($66.24)
BenQ GL2055 20-Inch LED-lit Monitor ($89.99)
A compatible mother board and other things will cost around another 200$

Note: All prices are from Amazon, so it is possible you might get some parts for lower price from your local retailer.
