What is a good gaming computer?

Q. I am currently looking for a good gaming computer that isn't too expensive.

A. The only way to get a good gaming computer "cheap" is the DIY build, IMO.

If you have $800 to spend, you can get a solid computer. The monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse are additional costs to this $800.

You'll need the following:

Case
Power Supply
Motherboard
RAM
Video Card(s)
Hard Drive(s)
DVD-R/RW Drive (and/or Blu-Ray)
Keyboard
Mouse
Monitor
Speakers
Operating System

Go with an AMD CPU and you'll keep your costs down. The motherboard should support DDR3 RAM, and your video card budget should be as high as you can go. If you can get 2 cards (must be supported by your mainboard), you will rock.

Get some kick ass 7.1 Surround sound speakers.

What exactly are you looking to spend? I will do a write-up on a build that will fit your budget. Please let me know if you need speakers, monitor, mouse, keyboard as well. I recommend a gaming keyboard and mouse for gaming purposes, obviously.

My computer speakers...?
Q. Recently when I was playing an online game and every once in awhile i'd hear a low grumble or muffled sound coming from my speakers. It never made that sound before. I have Alte[ Langsing speakers which are amazing. When I test my speakers sound comes from both. When I unplugged the speakers and plugged them back in I still heard that sound. Are my speakers slowly dying? I hear it every once in awhile when playing the online game. What can I do to see if my speakers are dying?

A. It,may be,not problem with the speakers, but with the game,Try to go on Youtube and play songs
for half an hour and see,if it ever happens again

computer speakers?
Q. i accidentally deleted the sound card, or whatever it is called, from my computer and now it says there is no audio device installed even though my speakers are connected correctly. does anyone know where i can download it??
i have windows xp

A. Right click My computer, open properties.

Select hardware, Click device manager.

The sound card's driver which you have accidentally deleted will have a yellow question mark on it indicating that this device has no drivers. You can double click and verify that it doesnt have any driver installed.

Note: Look in sound, video and game controllers

Double click the device, and then select Drivers from the window, from here you can install/update the driver.

Insert your microsoft windows cd, seach for the driver in your cd rom, windows folder, or you can ask windows to search on the internet.

Other option is to note down the name of the vendor, and open the website of the manufacturer and download the desired driver.

Hope it helps :)

Best gaming computer?

Q. Hello, I'm looking for a very good computer to buy to better my online gaming experiance....(I play WoW)

Lets say price is not a problem....whats the...top 3?

(NO MACS! CUZ MACS SUCK!)

ty^^
What i want:
I want the fastest load times...a computer that can load a large ammount of gaming data fast (internet connection rocks)
-I never want to lag due to my computer
-I wnat the best graphics WoW can dish out

....thats pretty much it lol

A. My company, Zero 3 Computers offer great computers a even better deals....check this out:

z500
2.4GHz Core 2 Quad
MSI NVIDIA nForce 680i ATX Intel Motherboard (SLI READY)
Max Memory Supported: 8GB
PCI Express x16: 4
PCI Express x1: 1
4GB DDR2 240 Pin Memory
500GB Hard Drive
20X DVD±R
16X DVD-ROM
2x 512MB 256bit nVidia GeForce 8800GT (SLI READY)
22" Widescreen LCD
550W Black Raidmax Sagitta 2 Gaming Case
External 5.25" Drives: 5

Logitech Gaming Controls (mouse and Keyboard)
2.0 Speakers
XP Home / Vista Home Basic 32-Bit (see above to choose)
$2200.00
http://www.zero3computers.com/z500.htm

With dual 8800GT video cards, quad core technology, a 4GB or ram....you will pretty much be on top of your game for a long time to come. Dont get suckered into buying a $5000.00 computer from DELL / Alienware (basically same company now) or Falcon NW.....that is outrageous for a computer considering it probably cost less for them then it does for me to build....but my price is half of theirs with same parts and quality.

Spending $5000.00 doesnt make you a hard core gamer....my $2200.00 system can keep up with theirs with no problems. So dont go for these way overpriced computers when you can spend half as much and walk with more.

Best speakers for computer gaming?

Q. What are the best speakers for computer gaming? I am looking to buy my husband a new set of them for Christmas. I thought Bose would be the way to go, but from what I've found searching around, it looks like Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers are the best. Options? Thanks!

A. Yeah Bose are overpriced, purely for their name. I personally use my home entertainment system for my speakers so I haven't done much research in this area, but I can tell you that Logitech is a good brand for speakers! Also in case you don't know, 5.1 means there will be 5 speakers for the surround sound plus a subwoofer, the 5 speakers need to be place around the person at the computer so if your computer isn't in a place that allows that, it will be a waste unfortunately. If that's the case, a good set of 2.1 speakers would be what you should be looking for.

Computer speakers for TV?
Q. I have a game room and I'm reeeeallyy not into buying a receiver for a legit home theatre system...so I figured hey...why not get computer speakers and plug it in the headphone jack of my TV. So I took some crappy speakers and plugged em in...they work...but I was crazy bass and home theatre kinda feel. Any suggestion? I was thinking LOGISYS Computer SP8000BK 4.1 Speakers from Newegg but I don't know if they will work without a receiver!!!I just need really loud and powerful speakers that a cheap and don't need a reciever.

A. Computer speakers don't need a receiver. A headphone jack will work with most computer speakers in some way.

You would be pleased with any of the speakers listed. I guess your price range will have to be taken into consideration.

How can I split sound from one PC to two different speaker systems?

Q. I would like to be able to play a game on my computer and get the computer/game sounds on my computer speakers. And at the same time play a movie in Windows Media Player (or similar software) and get only the sound from the movie connected to the TV or an amplifier.

What do I need to make this possible? At the moment I have a computer with an integrated soundcard on my motherboard.

A. I would say buy a Jack splitter at any radio shack, it should be a couple of bucks and set one sound lower than the other.

What is the best processor, mother board, video card, and etc.for computer gaming desktop?
Q. Im planning to put a computer gaming shop business. Please give me advice on whats the most affordable but best set up of computer I can assemble.please be specific.im really not a tech person.

A. It is all very budget dependent. Here is a nice $1000 part set if putting it together yourself, and be sure to watch youtube videos and work on a non-static flat big surface and wear gloves or ground yourself and never force things together.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zWjz
CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz 4 cores, 4 threads since gaming does not use hyperthreading nor more than 4 cores.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler - a good value for overclocking the CPU. It is tall, but very efficient and priced well.
Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard - supports overclocking, and has 2 slots of pciex16 to possibly add a second GPU in SLI at another time for crossfiring instead of replacing the graphics card as you would in a 1 slot system.
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 The right amount for gaming in the right speed for the CPU and is a good brand 1.5V with heat spreader in CAS 9
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - fairly reliable bulk storage in a good size of a terrabyte
Sandisk 64GB 2.5" Solid State Disk - to hold Windows and a few games for fast load and top performance. Can use half in partition for Intel RST/SRT HDD acceleration if preferred.
Video Card Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 2GB - Highly rated solid performer. I did not look up its status for SLI vs crossfire
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=548
Cooler Master Storm Enforcer ATX Mid Tower Case - Nice looking case with good air flow and roomy. Starts with only 2 fans as adequate, but could add a top fan. There are many good choices of cases. Has USB 2 and 3 and audio ports.
Rosewill Green 630W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Decent enough as a single rail (one +12V as preferred) with a 6 and 6+2 pcie connector set and since GTX 660 needs only one, should be enough for crossfire one day without changing it. 50A (600 watts) on 12V to power GPU, CPU, fans and disk drives. There are better and worse PSUs but this is surely at least adequate and more.
Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer - any DVDRW
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
gamers prefer Win 7
Still need keyboard, mouse, audio output (speakers/headphones), and a display

No sound from my computer speakers.I happened to lose sound the same time I upgraded quicktime audio program?
Q. I lost computer speaker sound.Connections are good. It happened around the same day I took up a window offering to upgrade quicktime, so I did and now nothing from my speakers.any similar experience by anyone else?

A. First make sure your speakers are plugged in and have power to them. Yeah yeah I know but do it anyway. Next check your device manager on your system to make sure that Quick-time did not change your sound card driver.

Right Click MyComputer go to manage then to the Device Manager. Check your sound and game controller there.

If that is good you should have some sound card utility that is installed on your computer make sure that it is set to your sound card as the preferred device.

If that fails then check to make sure your speakers did not go south and will not be coming back from the vacation they decided to go on.
(Plug in a different set into your sound card if you have a set of ear buds you can plug them in directly to the sound card)

If you do not have sound then as a last resort use system restore.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools then to System Restore. Try to pick a day that was before you lost sound.

OH and above all else turn the knob up just in case someone turned down the volume (turning the volume all the way up you should hear a hissing sound if they are working) OH and if you have a nice speaker setup sometimes they need to be reset unplug the woofer for 30 seconds.

I think I have covered all of the issues that may happen to speakers heres hoping your tunes come back in the next fifteen minutes

Who can help me make my sentences sound like a native English speaker has written them?

Q. I have not any friends, I do not need friends in terms of theory. I can handle myself and success to accomplish the purpose. But I feel lonely, I can not satisfy my own desires and give myself pleasure, except for watching TV and movie, listening music or play computer games. When once I mingle with people, I would feel uncomfortable, I did not know how to deal with other people. I am seeking ways to move the mental obstacles.

How to hook up a headset to my speakers?
Q. So, I play computer games on my pc laptop, and the laptop itself doesn't have a microphone jack. I have a set of speakers that DO have a plug for my headset (Both the sound, and the microphone), but when I try to plug them in, the speakers work when alone, but when I plug the microphone in the jack for microphones, the sound in my headset goes quiet, and he microphone doesn't work.
