Computer Ram?

Q. I have a Inspiron 531 Dell computer which works rally good. But i want to make it faster becasue whne im multitasking it lags. Does anyone know what kind of Ram i should buy and does ram even make it faster. Also does anyone know the How much it would cost to buy this ram.

A. Increased RAM can make things faster. You can see if your computer can handle more RAM by going to Crucial.com and running a scan. No need to buy from them.

It's important to note that everything takes RAM. Not only security products (such as active anti-spyware, anti-virus and firewall) eat up memory but your operating system, active browser windows, running applications (such as Word, Gaming, Messenger, Photoshop, etc), graphic card and malware all compete for system resources. The presence of Malware (viruses, spyware, etc) will particularly eat up your system resources so you may want to run your resident security products such as antispyware and antivirus applications to ensure that your system is clean.

Computer Ram?!?!?
Q. I want to play World of Warcraft real bad on my computer, but when i try to download it on my computer, it says i need more ram. So, ram for my computer would cost about175 dollars, so i dont want to do that, but is there any way to free up ram on my computer? please post of any ways to clear up ram on your computer...??

A. This is tricky. Depending on the amount of RAM your computer, you might need to buy more ($30 for 512). I would suggest Newegg.com. You could free up space with virtual memory. Virtual memory is EXTREMELY ineffective. If you need just a little boost, this might help. Go to the control panel, system, advanced tab, Preformance Virtual memory (first button), and then virtual memory size. Installing new RAM is easy. you should have an open slot. Make sure you have no other programs running when you run the game.

What is the difference between a server computer and a regular computer?

Q. More specifically when it comes to computer gaming and how they run on the server computer. Also can a server computer do everything that a regular computer can do?

A. Basically, servers are designed to use server edition of OSes ... that they have no proper graphics acceleration hardware, but lots of RAM and generally multi core CPUs. No, you will not be able to game on a server like normal PCs ... because, as I said so, they are constructed in a way that Graphics acceleration is minimal, because, servers does not need it as it would make them power intensive.

How come all of my computer games have begun to lag a lot?
Q. Even before I upgraded my video card to a 8600gt and upgraded to a 2gb ram. Games like Halo and Rome Total War runned smoothly. All of a sudden Im noticing that every game I play, even the ones that used to run smoothely before I upgraded lag. Im not sure what the problem is but I dont think it has to do with hard drive usage i still got 27% left unused on my Windows Vista

A. games create registry entries that get messed up, run reginout scan and clean system junk with it to reduce lagging.

What is the best Gaming Computer out there?
Q. I want a good gaming computer with RAM and around 250GB-300GB. I have around 1000$ to use. Where can i go (store or website) to get this computer? I also would like it customized
I got no idea how to build a comp, where can i learn?

A. Alienware isn't the best... you can easily build 2 computers of the same specs for the price of one of their rigs.

Unless you are made of money, stick to building a PC. If you can't go with Gateway, their deals seem better.

For 1000 dollars you can max all games right now.

Go with a E8400, 2GB (or 4) of ram, 320/500GB HD, ATI 4850/ nVidia 8800GT and the rest of the components. Even if you don't know how to build, services are probably around 50-100 dollars for building but you will save more than buying a pre-built rig. If you have a buddy into computers, ask him! :P

Good luck!

How many PC games can your computer handle on high graphics?
Q. I was just wondering, how many computer games can your PC handle? I have a few games installed and mostly all of them have to be on low graphics. I need a good machine and if I were to buy one would I beable to play all games on ultra high graphics?

A. Well, obviously, it's going to depend on the actual hardware you use. You'll need a great graphics card, a great processer [at least 8GB ram, though I have 16], a good CPU, etc. I got mine for about 1500 dollars, and it can run all games on max settings [My only weakpoint is Crysis 3, which I run on high, because that game is a freaking PC-melter]. A good place is cyberpowerpc.com, and you can live-chat with customer support to figure out what specific graphics card, etc. that you need. To run every game, including crysis 3, on max, you'll need a Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 [or 690], althogh those are really expensive and not necessary.
