What is a good gaming computer build between 500-750$?

Q. I'm looking to build a gaming computer and i can spend between 500-750 dollars not including monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers. I dont really have a clue how to start building or what parts i need. I know websites like newegg.com sell individual parts. I dont plan on trying to play crysis or any games with that high PC specs. Some games I play are, Voyage Century, Killing Floor, and I plan on getting Star Craft 2 when it comes out. Could you give me some parts I need that will run those games? (I know i need a mother board, graphics card, sound card, and all of that but i need some specific ones like GeForce 9300 or something that will run those games) Thanks Alot
I'm not looking for a super good one that has a $200 video card and top of the line parts. Just a build that can play the listed games.

A. With some creative shopping, you can actually build a seriously powerful gaming system that could handle Crysis for $800. The key is chasing down combo prices

CASE: NZXT BETA EVO

***COMBO*** VIDEOCARD & CPU: MSI 5770 HAWK + AMD PHENOM II X4 955 BE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.364920

***COMBO*** PSU & HARD DRIVE: OCZ ModXstream pro 600w + Western Digital 500GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.362772

CD/DVD BURNER DRIVE: Sony Optiarc Black

Or, you could simply buy a slightly less powerful system from a gaming PC assembler:
$748 (with OS) http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Special-B

gaming computer 500-750 dollars?
Q. what is a prebuilt comp that can run BF3 on 1080p hopefully about 60fps? i have looked around newegg im not sure exactly as which to get.

A. why buying a prebuilt when you can build it yourself, just read few tutorials about assembling the computer parts;
if you're interested to learn, here's the link:
http://budget-gaming-computers.com/how-to-build-gaming-pc.html

and here' the link to a good gaming desktop which you can buy the parts from newegg or tigerdirect.

my recommendation: NEVER buy prebuilt system, ALWAYS build it by yourself.

Buying a computer on a budget, what specs are good for a gaming computer now or in the near future?

Q. My budget is $750-$1000. What specs should I look for in a decent gaming computer, that will run most(if not all) of today's games smoothly?

A. The most important component of a gaming computer is the graphics card- that's where to splurge. You get more bang for your buck by spending an extra $50 on your GPU, instead of your CPU.

For future-proofing the best route is Core i7, but that's not really the budget route since the CPUs and RAM are more expensive.

For most games right now, a high-clockspeed dual-core CPU performs better than a lower-clockspeed quad-core. They're also better on your budget because they cost less. And those savings translate into a better graphics card or more RAM.

Where the quad-cores really shine are in movie editing, 3D modeling and rendering apps and really heavy multitasking- not so much for games. Their performance boost is minimal compared to what you'd gain from other upgrades.

A Core 2 Duo E8400 combined with a GTX 260/Radeon 4870 is very doable within your budget. Also consider going with an AM3 socket system instead of Intel socket 775.

Here are the $650 and $1250 gaming builds from Tom's Hardware- since you're smack in the middle, I'd suggest using either as a baseline and then upgrading/downgrading. Right now a pair of Radeon 4770 cards in Crossfire are undisputed performance kings of the $220 price point.

What are some good affordable gaming computers?
Q. I am looking to get a gaming computer. I am currently on a computer that doesn't support the games I play very well. I'm looking to upgrade to a pretty decent gaming computer but I don't want to spend a lot of money on it. The games that I play are mainly Team Fortress 2, Minecraft (which I run a bunch of mods on) and games like that. I also run video editing software. I need to know what type of gaming computers will run these games very well without any lag. I want a good computer but don't want to spend upwards amounts of money. Please let me know what type of gaming computers I could get.

A. In a medium price range ($400 - $700), you can easily get a HP or Gateway/Acer desktop with a quad core processor (both AMD and Intel i5 or stronger), 4GB to 8GB of RAM, 250 to 1TB hard drive and a medium graphics card of 1GB memory.
Laptops are always more expensive than desktops so a laptop with aforementioned specs should cost about $600 - $750.
You should check BestBuy's or NewEgg's sites, they have a lot of different models. Or you can choose to buy a refurbished desktop (BestBuy available) which is about $100 cheaper than a new one.

What are some good gaming computers that can handle pretty much any game?

Q. I want to get a gaming computer that can handle lots of games, have plenty of memory space and is super fast when just internet browsing or playing a fast paced fps. I know alienware makes some pretty sick computers but i wouldn't know which one to get, im not really a tech guy. I play games like star wars the old republic and combat arms and they got some serious lag on them and i hate it. What are some good gaming computer models that can handle these games?

A. Let me help you pick a computer! Alienware does have nice computers, no doubt. Although, their computers are famous for being overpriced for what you get. Let me give you some pointers when you are looking for your computer! I will also suggest a few computers for you to look in to.

First rule: Windows 7 is a must. Macs and older versions of windows are simply obsolete for gaming. I will give a Mac OS credit in certain aspects over Windows OS, although gaming is simply not Macs strong point.

Second: Processor / Video Card/ RAM - The 3 most important things when picking a computer.
You will want to make sure your PROCESSOR is a 64 bit capable processor with at least 4 cores (Quad core). If you want to take it to the next level, look into 6-8 core processors (if price is not a concern..)
For a video card, I would highly suggest a GeForce (Nvidia) and one of the newer models. I use the Nvidia 550 gtx ti. It's a great card, last I checked the nvidia series with geforce goes at high as the 590gtx. So at least make sure your video card is an Nvidia GTX 500 series.
RAM (Random Access Memory) - The reason a 64 bit processor is so important, is RAM. 64 bit processors allow you to use a great deal of random access memory which will significantly increase computer speed while web browsing and multitasking. It also plays a fairly large roll in the gaming world second to video cards. I would suggest no less than 8 Gigabytes of RAM.

Third: System cooling - this is usually more of a concern if you build your own PC. Lots of people get the best hardware imaginable and don't understand just how much heat that puts out. Although, if you order a computer from a professional website or company, they understand the importance of cooling.

Fourth - Power supply! One of the most overlooked parts of a computer is the power supply. Think about it like this: If you're using the best parts, they demand lots of power (especially more-so than medium and low quality parts). Since I don't know exactly what parts you will use it would be difficult to recommend the perfect power supply. But for a gaming computer, make sure your power supply has at least 750 Watts, preferably more if you are buying a high end machine.

Good machines to look into with a higher budget:
IBuyPower LVL 10: http://www.ibuypower.com/info/Level10.aspx Just a strong overall computer that will undoubtedly take you through any game. Very expensive though. The cheaper models will run you about $2,000 not including shipping costs.

Black Pearl by CyberPower. http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/CyberPower_Black_Pearl/
Will run you ~$1,150

If you want cheaper option, Alienware does offer a fair deal on a nice computer that will run SWToR and Combat Arms with no problems, here is a link to their x51.
http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51/pd - This will probably run you around $800 if you make any upgrades or get a monitor. It could cost as low as ~$725 with shipping otherwise.

Last off, if you want to build your own (perhaps if you have a friend or a local business that will hook it all up for a price) look into Tigerdirect.com or Newegg.com for parts.

Hopefully this helps!

What is a good gaming computer and how much does it cost?
Q. I'm looking for a good gaming computer with good graphics.
I know I'll need a video chip to help it so any information on what kind of chip will also be useful.
And prices would also be appreciated, thanks.

A. http://gamingrig.blogspot.com/

Check this for the best gaming PC's that can be purchased at $500, $600, $750 and $1000. It all depends on how much you want to spend for your PC. Anything over $500 will get you a decent gaming PC.

What are the best specs for making a gaming computer?

Q. I need to make a gaming computer that can run crysis 2, bf3, and metro 2033 efficiently on a $1500 budget and I don't know what the best parts to choose.

A. CPU: either Intel Core i5-2500K or better yet Intel Core i7-2600K (emphasis on the "K").
Get a good CPU cooler, as the stock Intel cooler is crap. Get a either a Cooler Master or a Sunbeam Twister 120 CPU cooler.
Motherboard: Get any motherboard with the newer Z68 Chipset, LGA 1155 socket, with SATA III (3) - 6.0Gb/s. It is the best setup for Sandy Bridge processors. I got this Gigabyte for $125:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128495&Tpk=z68ma-d2h-b3
HDD: Get an SSD SATA III (3) - 6.0Gb/s for your OS, 64GB or bigger (128GB would be best, I got the 64GB as I use Linux and Mac OS X, not Windows)
Also get a 1TB or 2TB Seagate SATA III (3) - 6.0Gb/s 7200rpm 32MB or 64MB cache hard drive for file storage
Get 8GB (2 x 4GB) of DDR3 1600MHz RAM (G.Skill Ripjaws X Series are the best, Corsair are also good). You do not need 16GB RAM for gaming, it is overkill.
A 750 Watts or bigger double rail top quality power supply (Cooler Master, Antec, OCZ, Corsair)
A good graphics card, nVidia GeForce 560 Ti or at least GTX 460 Fermi or even Radeon HD 6870 or 6970.
Dylano suggested the nVidia GTX 580, it is better but also much more expensive at $480 vs. the $240 for the 560 Ti or $160 for the GTX 460 Fermi. You would get about the same results if you use a 560 Ti and spend more on the i7-2600K CPU.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS
Good PC Case with plenty of space and air flow, at least 2 or 3 120 mm Fans (with blue LED for cool looks).

Good luck.

How much would a good gaming computer cost?
Q. To make a long story short, I already have a good Dell laptop for school and such, but I'm looking for a fast gaming computer for games such as The Sims, etc. What price range would I be looking at for a computer and a monitor? (Please note that I don't speak 'computer' and I am very easily confused with technology talk)!
Thank you soo much for all of the answers I have received, but there is no way in hell I could ever build my own computer. Ever.

A. Well then the options some of these guys will spew at you will be greek I take it? fine I won't say "Bild your own" or the one oyu build"

I will tell you that this web site

http://www.newegg.com is where all of us nerdy geak guys go for great computer parts at the best possible prices.

Now for you, this is alos a great place to go for Great computers at the absolute best prices. on the average about $300-$600 cheaper than bestbuy or Dell.

I will give yo three price ranges and have links for computers in those price ranges. I won't give oyu monitor prices because I don't know how large of a monitor oyu are afte, nor do I know what you want to pay for one. but a good monitor that is 22 in will run oyu about $200 extra. so keap that in mind and yes, you CAN buy one at newegg.

So, here's the best gaming computers between $600 and $750.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2032280010%201308920938%204021%201141828689&name=Core%202%20Quad

And this one is the best out of that group for $750. Also it is the best one under $1000

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229086

Not a bad choice if you are on a budget.

This group is a step up. these computers are at or around $1000

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2032280010%201308920938%204023&name=%241000%20-%20%241250

And this is the best one for that catagory

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229083

And these are some of the higher end computers at about $2300, probably a little over kill for what you want.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2032280010%201308920938%204086&name=%242000%20-%20%242500

I would suggest the first one that was $750 because it has what you will want, a good proccessor, plenty of ram (memory) a big hard drive (storage) and of course a good Graphics card (for games)

I hope this helps

EDIT: hey Matdud, hate to break it to you but alienware isn't what it used to be. they got bought out by dell about a two years ago and since then have given much less for the money. stay clear form "name brands" all that matters is the parts anyways. they all come with the same warrenties
