will non-gaming computers be able to run the sims 3?

Q. My computer can just barely run the sims 2, do you think that non-gaming computers will be able to run the sims 3?

A. Depends what the spec requirements for Sims 3 is, it's not coming out for awhile. Take a gander at Sims 2 computer requirements - if your computer can't run Sims 2 it won't be able to run Sims 3.

What are good computers for playing the sims 3 games?
Q. I wanna play the sims 3 on a computer, but not just the sims 3. I have almost every expansion pack and stuff pack and I plan on adding the Island Paradise to my collection to and I want to put all those games on ONE computer! What kind of computer or laptop is powerful enough to hold all these games, possibly more as EA stats to make new sims games, and also makes them run smoothly and perfectly?

A. What type of computer? You need to be more specific than that.

But, for starters I wouldn't get a laptop. With a computer you can always upgrade it little by little whenever you feel like it and you won't have that luxury with a laptop.

I don't recommend going to a retail store like Best Buy as they over charge.

I'd go to cyberpowerpc.com and click on the tab/menu at the top that says intel computers or gaming computers. There's one there for $600-$700 I think. That would play the Sims 3 fine....of course that's "only" the PC (no monitor). You can choose to customize it and add a monitor if you needed...or even have them upgrade and add a better video card or processor or whatever. Of course each additional upgrade you put in raises the price depending on which video card you get or which processor your upgrade to. However, in this way you are getting exactly what you wanted which isn't really the case with PC's bought at a retail store.

I did buy a PC+20"monitor on ebay last week for $391 for my little girl. 6gb ram, 3.2ghz processor, 1 TB harddrive...and iwth a monitor?! hell of a deal. I had a spare video card since I upgraded mine not too long ago so I gave her the spare. Other than that I just had to buy a better powersupply ($50). So, for $440. I got a PC+Monitor which can play any game out there right now.

My Sims 3 game wont work on my computer?

Q. I think its because of the fact that i don't have internet on that computer but i have tried to take my net gear and put it on the downstairs computer where my Sims is installed but my USB ports don't work ! how do i fix my USB ports and do you have to have internet to play the Sims 3?
MY computer is Windows XP
i have taken some of my old stuff off to make more room for my sims 3 but thats not the problem. I have enough room for it! it just wont work!

A. The Sims 3 Game takes A LOT out of your computer.

Check the back of the box of the game, look nearby the Rating of the Game (There should be a big T) and then there should be Game Requirement. Don't know some of those requirements? Then look them up on the Internet.

I'm telling you, Sims 3 is just too powerful. If all else fails, just stick with Sims 2.

Sometimes it just needs a new computer.

Also if the memory is too full take some un-important stuff out.

Sims 3 gaming computer?
Q. Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether this is a good computer to run the sims 3 on and whether the specifications are met. I currently have all the expansion packs + tons of CC and all the store content on a very very slow pc, therefore I get tons of lag. Playable but very very laggy. I was looking at new computers and this is in my price range and I guess it meets the demands I just need professional's opinion on whether it really meets the demands and if it can play the sims 3 ??! http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Computer-I17RN-5047BK-I17rn-5047bk-I5-2450m/dp/B0081L4AMO here is the link and I'm not quite sure on the graphics card and processor really so I need confirmation on if it would run the sims properly. Please help me thank you

A. Sorry I can't seem to find the link to "Affordable high performance gaming laptops."

However, I can tell you this...

Dell sucks. Dude, don't get a Dell.

The best types of gaming computers are Lenovo, Toshiba, and ASUS. There are a few others, but if you search up "gaming computer" in http://www.google.com , these are the results that you will get.

Currently I have a Sony Vaio which is well good enough to run The Sims 3 on medium settings. I want to upgrade and I will tell you something, the Lenovo Y500 is the ultimate gaming laptop and it's fairly affordable considering that it can play any game with the best quality sound and ultra graphics.

The Lenovo Y500 is at a reasonable price... $850

There are other Lenovo laptops that come much cheaper. One that I can think of (I forgot the make name) was only $650.

When it comes to gaming laptops, spend a bit more and it's well worth it. There are some amazing laptops such as the Razor with a huge screen and a bunch of awesome features. It is priced at $2,999 and the performance lacks in comparison to the Lenovo Y500.

Go to http://www.lenovo.com and you can search up gaming computers for yourself. Toshiba might be a bit more affordable and will still play The Sims 3 well. It's up to you.

Hope this helps.

What computer is best to play the Sims 3 on?

Q. I am in the market to buy a new computer. I have a laptop that I am currently using to play The Sims 2 on and it works OK but I want something faster.

I want to buy The Sims 3 when it comes out but I'm not sure what type of computer would be best to buy. I'm sure any gaming computer would be good but I don't know to much about them.

I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers so I just need to buy the tower. Help???

Thanks!

A. If you can play Sims 2 ok, likely you can run Sims 3 as well. As long as your computer is purchased somewhere 2004 and beyond. Sims games don't take much, unless you want tip top performance for Sims 3. But if your'e just going to play Sims 3, it won't be worth it to get a gaming computer. If you do want a new comp, look for deals on cheap towers at frys or best buys for $2-300 and it should runs sim3 fine.

The full Sims 3 minimum requirements follow:

PC/Desktop, XP Service Pack 2:

* Processor: Pentium IV 2.0 GHz / Athlon XP 2000+
* Memory: 1 GB
* GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500
* Graphics RAM: 128 MB

Laptop, XP Service Pack 2:

* Processor: Pentium IV 2.0 GHz / Athlon XP 2000+
* Memory: 1.5 GB
* GeForce Go 6200 / Radeon mobile 9600
* Graphics RAM: 128 MB

What is the best gaming computer I can get for under 550?
Q. I have $550 dollars only to spend on a good gaming computer. One that can play Skyrim and Sims 3 on high graphics. Does anyone know of the best one out there for $550?
I am not making one, it is not the right thing for me.

A. Shirley, the best gaming computer you can buy for cheap is one that you build yourself. Building a computer yourself will save you money and will allow you to buy better parts for less money. Newegg is holding a great components sale:

http://promotions.newegg.com/NEPro/BackToSchool/shop2.html

Also remember that when you buy computers from outlets such as Dell and HP, they will factory install crapware on your PC (help center programs, useless backup software, etc.) that will slow your computer down. Building a computer will allow you to have a computer that doesn't have those programs that will bloat your CPU usage.

Do you need a Gaming computer for the Sims 3 to work?

Q. I have a new laptop, and it's not a gaming computer or a computer with lots of memory, or whatever. It runs pretty fast, and I was wondering if I bought the Sims 3 for the PC if I'd be worth it on my computer? Thanks. 10 points to best answer!

A. It's not likely. I have a pretty beefy desktop PC and it stutters on Sims 3 every now and then.

*Minimum* requirements:
OS: Windows XP SP 2/Windows Vista
Processor: Pentium 4 @ 2 GHz/Athlon XP 2000+
Memory: 1 GB (1.5 GB for Laptops)
Video Memory: 128 MB (GeForce FX 5900/Radeon 9500)
(GeForce Go 6200/Radeon Mobile 9600 for Laptops)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c

If you meet that you could probably get by, but it not be too pretty.
