I want to build a budget gaming computer to run world of warcraft cataclysm?

Q. I do not know how to find compatible components to build a computer and I was hoping it could be under $400 to run World of Warcraft Cataclysm. Can you guys link me parts of everything I need and possibly from Newegg?

A. Easily. Contrary to what most people say you don't need a super computer to run games. Stick with AMD Processors, Get a name brand (MSI, Gigabyte, AsRock) motherboard, and try to go for dated, but not obsolete hardware. Pretty much anything with a PCIE16 slot (that's where your graphics card goes) and at least two gig of ram in dual channel mode can run MOST games acceptably. Just research what other people have to say about hardware, and don't splurge on any one component, IE an economy processor and mother board with a cutting edge graphics card is just about as useless as an awesome 6 core system with onboard graphics, you just spent more for one.

Oh, and seriously don't expect anyone who has a bunch of bright blue LED's all over the inside of his rig with computer that looks like a spaceship to actually know how to build a computer.

I'm running WoW rather smoothly on an HP Pavilion that I found in the trash and threw a dual core processor and an ATI 5750 in. Total investment 168 dollars.

World of Warcraft gaming computer?
Q. http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Mage_D235

i am trying to buy a computer for my son but I don't know too much about computers. I was wondering if this computer would good for World of Warcraft and if you know a better computer thats around $600 then please put a link to it

A. I would say no because World of Warcraft is a pretty low graphic game. You don't need something like that to play it a normal business laptop or desktop will be perfectly fine. Secondly, don't buy computers that is not main stream. The chance of you running into troubles and the cost to fix it would be a lot high than if you were to buy from Dell or Sony. Now my suggestion are for WOW specifically. If you want to also play others games like Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, or other high end games then maybe a gaming computer might be more suitable for you. I hope this help. Good luck picking your computer.

Gaming Computer?

Q. I need a very good gaming computer that wont lagg up when i play something like unreal tournament 3 or world of warcraft? Is there any cheap ones out there?

A. Very good gaming computers are more expensive, not cheaper than standard school/work models.... And desktops are cheaper than laptops.

Buying used from someone who's upgrading, you might get a deal.

Check out Cyber Power PC- they have nice gaming machines for less than major brands like Dell, Sony, etc...

If I got a new computer would I have to re-buy my World of Warcraft games?
Q. I'm thinking I might be getting a new laptop for Christmas. I currently have World of Warcraft and both expansions. If I wanted to play WoW on my new laptop, could I just install them off of the disks I already have, or would I have to re-buy them?

A. No you do not need to re-buy the game. There are a few ways to can get World of Warcraft onto your new computer, you can:

a) Copy the entire World of Warcraft directory from your old computer to you new computer, or
b) Install the game from the original game discs, and it'll need to download and apply all the patches, or
c) Download and install the game from World of Warcraft website, you'll need to login to your account in order to download the Universal Client from the following link:
https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/download_wow.html

The fastest and easiest would be option A over a local area / wireless network; unless you have a really large thumb drive (like 16gb).

How do I build a Gaming Computer and what is everything I need?

Q. I need to know how to build a computer. I know pretty much nothing on this topic so I would need help a lot. Possible for me to buy the parts and if there is a place where I can have someone build it for me. I also need to know everything needed for a gaming computer. I would like to run games like Skyrim, World of Warcraft, and many other games like this. And just pretend like I have no price range, but keep in mind that I am a 15 year old.

A. I bought everything for mine off of Newegg.com and one or two things off of Amazon.com. I've heard of Tiger-Direct being a good place to buy from also.
Newegg has a section of computer hardware that is very helpful to find what you are looking for. They also have a series of videos on how to build a computer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw

Some examples of what you would need (there are many different prices so you just have to research what you want):
1) A case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

2) Memory (RAM) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231357

3) Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182084

4) Processor (CPU) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115095&Tpk=2700k

5) Graphics Card(s) (GPU) (I recommend only buying one because SLI and Crossfire tend to be choppy or not fully supported in many games). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130781 (This is like an ultimate graphics card that will run anything)

6) Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

7) Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188122

8) Mouse, keyboard, speakers, screen/monitor.

That makes up what you need inside the computer. Optional things to put inside include a better fan for your CPU, an SSD (Solid State Drive), or a wireless card to allow for wireless internet.

The power supply must have enough Watts for all of your parts which can be determined here: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

The motherboard should be considered the base of your computer. All parts must be compatible with it in order for the computer to work. Even the case must be able to hold it, and if you get a full sized tower (case) then it should be able to hold whatever you buy. When you buy the computer you have to read the motherboard instructions and determine where to plug in everything, and watching the Newegg videos will help with that.

What are the best parts for a gaming computer?
Q. I'm looking for the best parts for a gaming computer so that I can get all of it off of ebuyer and build my computer but i'm not too sure what are the best things to have. I want to be able to play Garry's mod, Minecraft, Left 4 Dead 2, Lego games, Sumotori Dreams and World of Warcraft. I also want to record videos and put them on Youtube and eventually become a partner.. So what are the best parts for the computer and what is the best recording software?

A. Tom's hardware provides very good comparison guides for most components and even low, mid and high end build guides that you could take in total.

What could be the cheapest and best gaming computer?

Q. I play World of Warcraft all the time and just recently my desktop stopped working and kept rebooting with the same words "intel graphics driver needs to be updated." I don't deal in gaming computers, and i don't have any money, but if i were to upgrade my graphics or just get a new computer that could handle that, (WoW is the only online game i play) what would be my best bet for the CHEAPEST upgrade possible, but still have enough power to run the game perfectly?

A. If you where to get a graphics card i would get this:
Radon 6770: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102940
It's really good for the price.

Cheers.

Does the ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics card work well with World of Warcraft?
Q. I am looking to buy a good gaming computer for the game World of Warcraft. The computer I am currently looking at comes with an ATI Radeon HD 3450 card with 256MB graphics memory. Does this graphics card work well with this game?

A. Do not buy the ati 3450 it's a piece of junk, if you want a graphics card that will max out WoW(which is pretty easy these days), you should consider a graphics card in the $100-150 range to be safe and if you decide you want to play a game other than WoW. I suggest Something such as the ATI 3850, Nvidia 9600 gt, Nvidia 8800gt/9800gt, or if you got around 200 bucks for a video card get the 9800gtx(this is a high end one, will max out games like far cry 2, check it out if you haven't). Make sure you have 2 gigs of 800mhz ram, 2.4ghz dual core cpu, and a 500 watt power supply (possibly 550-600 if you get a 9800gtx), motherboard with a pci express x16/2.0 slot.

Does a motherboard really have much on an impact on gaming/computer speed/performance?

Q. I'm currently shopping online to buy parts to build my own computer, and I'm having trouble picking the right motherboard. Honestly I don't have a clue what they do, and the only thing that seems to be different in the price. I'm looking to build a very nice gaming computer (more specifically, for world of warcraft) and don't know which motherboard is my best option. Does anyone know more about building computers and choosing the right motherboard for a gaming desktop computer?

A. The motherboard is very important, you HAVE to make sure that all your components are compatible with your mother board, you have to make sure the mother board will fit in your case. then there are things such as bus speed which makes difference to performance.

If this is the 1st time you are building a computer and dont have much experience i would HIGHLY recomend that you watch these series of short videos which will help tremendously

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNbEBARu6LY&feature=relmfu This is part 1 - on the side you will find parts 2,3,4, etc

It goes over all the components and how to make sure they are compatible with each other.

What is the best gaming computer thats fast and could be displayed on a 37" for around $1000 or less?

Q. I want to know simply whats the best gaming computer out there that can handle being pluged in a 37" samsung tv as my desktop monitor and very fast. I plan on playing games like skyrim, world of warcraft, mw3, and diabloIII. Also I would like to spend no more than around $1000 or less.
~Its a B-day present thankyou

A. Hi, screen size does not mean much, resolution does. Most monitors and TVs have 1080p res, which is 1920x1080. For that $1000 budget is perfect. I recommend Intel i5 2500K with good video card, 4-8GB RAM is perfect.
Check this page below - it has many great options for every budget, with free shipping and clear price you will pick what you need in no time. Warrior and even Hunter will run D3 on High no probs

What is a good quality gaming computer?
Q. I am only looking for a computer to play World of Warcraft, and want to know what is a good gaming computer for my needs, at an affordable price. Thanks for your answers!

A. Alienware M11x awesome, no lagging, not even on the highest settings for WoW. my bro just got it, he says it is incredible. Its quite pricey though but hey if you want a good computer you have to be willing to pay the price. you have to buy the disc drive seperatley and you can even order it with WoW or one of the games listed alrady installed on it and of course there is a variation of different colors. it also can be programmed with up to 8gb for gaming and other software. Hope this helped :))
