Good Gaming Computer 2011?

Q. Hello, I am looking for a good gaming computer with an i7 processor and at least 16GB of RAM that is 1,000$ Or less. Thank you and if you could provide a link to the computer that would be great! REMEMBER Computer NOT Laptop

A. You can just build your own computer, by buying the parts and putting them together. That would save you LOTS of money.
parts you might want to consider:
processor: i7 2600k
GPU:GTX 560 or Radeon HD 5850
ram is really your choice, because you want 16gb. But in my own opinion you really don't need that much.
Probably 6-8gb is good for gaming.
I hope you have fun building a comp. :D

Which was the best computer game in 2011?
Q. ...so far.

I do not want a long list on each reply only one game per person please.
But please do explain you reasons for choosing it.

---

A. Ok, so I'm a little stupid, and I don't even know if this is a 2011 game, but I really like minecraft. You can make whatever you want, and be creative..

I am putting building a desktop. What are the best parts I can look for a good price?

Q. I'm planning on building a destop computer for gaming. I mostly do online gaming or load other games on the computer. I'm also thinking of starting from scratch or rebuilding from an old XP.
What am I looking for and what is a good brand?

A. The March 2011 edition of MaximumPC has an excellent article on building a gaming PC for just under $1,000. You could also do what I did and just buy one from IBuyPower for $600.

What is a cheap but good gaming computer?
Q. I don't have the money for alienware or apple computers, so could anyone please tell me good computers for gaming that are preferably under $650?

A. Here is a good $600 gaming configuration.

Spend $30 more and upgrade the GTX550Ti to a HD6850.

Why am I starting to feel old when I play on those computer games?

Q. I was born in 1941, now I remember my son used to play on those arcade games and so I started playing with him. Well, come 2011 or so I decided to buy one of those playstation 360s or whatever they call it for myself and my grandson but whenever I get on and talk to the people online they always seem to call me old. Am I too old to be playing those computer games? I'm just enjoying what I didn't have as a child. Is that such a crime?

A. lol, "playstation 360's"... nah no one is too old, infact i think it's refreshing to hear about older people playing video games. The people giving you grief for it I'm guessing are just ignorant little kids themselves, I wouldn't take it seriously.

How much would it cost to build a decent gaming computer in 2011?
Q. I've been really wanting to build a gaming computer, but I'm not the most tech-savvy person on earth. I know I can probably do it for $1k, but I'd also like to know what components I should buy in the first place to build a pretty good gaming computer.
I already have a pretty good monitor, mouse, speakers, keyboard, etc. All I have to worry about is the tower.

A. I would say around $800 - $1000.
You can get an AMD Phenom Quad Core for around $150. You can get a Hexa core processor, if you want to be really upgrade proof. But that usually costs a lot more than the quad.
Motherboards typically cost $150 - 200. (Be sure to get a mobo that is compatible with the processor)
A decent video card that will run current games will cost you $150 - 200. I recommend the NVIDIA GTX 560.
RAM (depending on how much you want) will typically cost you $60 - 120. 6GB DDR3 is recommended.
Power Supplies will be around $60 - 100. I recommend Corsair Power Supplies, they also have a Gaming Series for gaming computers.
Case would be around $50 - 80.
Windows will cost you $100 or more.
A Hard Drive will be around $100. 7200rpm recommended. You can go for a solid state hard drive just for backups, they are around $120.
So yeah, around $900.
In the end, you will be saving LOTS of money instead of buying an Alienware.

What is the best gaming computer in 2011?

Q. I have about around $10k and am looking to purchase the absolute fastest gaming computer on the market. I have compared every gaming computers specifications from pretty much every maker, and can't find anything to compete with the Psycho Killer Extreme from www.GamingPC.net . Does anyone know any other top of line super computer makers that compare with this one?

A. well to my knowledge the ultimate killer gaming pc includes these specs:
EVGA SR-2 Motherboard
2x Xeon processors
4x GTX 580's
48gb (4gb ram in all 12 slots)

What laptop/netbook would you suggest i buy? What should i look for when i choose a laptop?
Q. I'm a student, i'd use it mainly to write, to brows the web, and listen to music. Occasionally i'd watch a movie online, play a computer game..

I know i want it to be at least 14inch screen, and i'm looking for something cheap, inexpensive. I have considered buying a used laptop, but my friend tells me that's not a wise idea.

Thanks all.
oh, and i'd also use it for video conversations.

A. Since you probably will be sharing programs and files with other students and you don't want to have compatibility problems, I would recommend you to buy a PC laptop instead of an Apple.

A good way to decide which laptop you should buy is by looking at the best selling laptops list, because that tells you what most people are deciding to buy right now.

The most sold PC laptop with the characteristics that you require, and the one that I will recommend to you, is the Toshiba Satellite L755-S5271. It has a 15.6-Inch LED, and 4GB of RAM, which is something necessary if you don't want to have speed problems while opening various programs or web pages at the same time. You can buy it new for $499.99, but if you want something cheaper with these same characteristics, you can buy the HP ProBook 4530s XU015UT for $449.99.

Take a look here to see a list of the best selling laptops in Amazon.com:

Good luck!
