Whats a good gaming computer for under 700?

Q. It needs to be able to run MODERN games like Call of Duty Black Ops and such. Crysis should be playable on MEDIUM settings.

I'm looking for a good prossesor and graphics card. I could care less about the brand though, AMD and Intel are both ok. Would prefer quad core but duel is okay.
MONITOR does NOT have to be included. So 700 and under just for the machine.

A. I have been researching this for a long time actually (read the source) so I already know the best deal on the market. Its a Dell computer. And BTW- how would you like a Hex-Core PC? :)
Your expectations to run Crysis at medium settings are gonna be humble- you are gonna be able to run it at a decent FPS at Max Settings.

EDIT ON COMPUTERNOOB ANSWER: The CPU is not that overpowered- and if it was- wouldnt that be better lol :)?. And like I said- the Radeon5450 is not top-of-the-line but is way more than adequate for his gaming needs. I dont understand this insane need in the gaming world to always have the best.

If he is looking for building his own computer, then you have a point- there would be no reason for not putting in a better GPU. And you need to know what you are doing to build your own computer. I don't recommend it for beginners.

The computer that I am recommending is the Dell Studio XPS 7100. Before I go into explaining this computer and why it is good, let me write the specs:

PRICE: 699.99 PLUS TAX
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, English
CPU/Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1045T
GPU/GRAPHICS: ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB
RAM/MEMORY: 6GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 4 DIMMS
HARD DRIVE: 1TB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache
2 Year Basic Service Plan
McAfee SecurityCenter, 15-Months

The Processor is a Six-Core processor. This processor is super fast. However, the Intel equivalent of this processor is like a Core i7-930 processor which is very fast.
The Memory is the next point. It is 6 Gigs of DDR3 Ram which is more than you need. I actually think that 4 Gigs are just fine. The memory runs at a clock speed of 1333MHz- Again- very good and from my benchmarks- it is low latency.
The GPU/Graphics Card is not the best... however I dont think it will pose any issue for a user like you as you dont even want to play games at HD Resolutions&Max Settings. And again- it is still a mid-line dedicated GPU which will provide very crisp, fast graphics.
The HD is a Serial-ATA HD running at 7200RPM (Great again)

What is also great is that it comes with a 2 year warranty...

I would also recommend searching for coupons like free shipping from dell...

Go to the link below for the computer link... If it doesnt work, go to Dell.com and go to the Studio XPS 7100. Choose the standard package as that is what you need. The economy package is completely not adequate due to its mediocre Cpu and Gpu.

IF THE LINK BELOW DOES NOT WORK, CLICK ON THE SECOND LINK AND SELECT STANDARD OR FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE

Gaming computer under $700?
Q. Looking to build my own rig, I have nearly everything besides the tower (Case included) just need the parts (motherboard, power supply, graphics card, processor etc. etc.) any suggestions?

A. hi cory, motherboard is your choice asus is easier to use but intel offers so much more so buy one that has a lot of power. because you will need the extra power in your chipset. now this is important stay away from quad I recommend this processor an intel i7 960. amd is a lot more complicated and to buy the right one is a pain. I believe in intel and a 960 is a good gaming processor not unless you want to go with a 980 or a 990 lot more money. now I subscribe to pcworld magazine and they claim that all pro gamers are going to two video cards they are intel 250 to 280 and a Nvidia GeForce 9800gtx proven to keep killer graphics plus keeping your computer cooler. this is important the high powered video cards will check you into crash and burn hotel and it's cold and lonely there. now the rest is your choice but here is something to remember buying your power supply from the same company is important and sony has the best hard drive. your dvd burners should also be from sony not unless you are going blue ray they are sharp but they are expensive and hard to fit in your case. now I know that you mentioned building your own computer and that is admirable but I recommend that you get a computer repairman to build it for you he gets his parts from a warehouse and not mail order his parts are a lot more dependable plus he can give you some more options that I don't have the room to mention. good luck I hope I was helpful to you

what is the best deal i can get on a new desktop for under $700?

Q. im looking for a new desktop with the most memory, the best processor, etc. im not planning on using this computer for gaming, however i would prefer the computer to have Microsoft XP, and programs such as Office and excell. the price range im aiming for is under $700

A. You can get a very good PC for that money. However, you aren't going to find a brand nw PC with XP. XP no longer comes pre-installed on new models. Don't be afraid of Vista
especially if you're only going by here-say and not from actual experience with Vista. Vista has improved imensely since it was introduced. I wouldn't own a PC without it! I haven't had any problems at all.
I just bought an HP at Circuit City and they had all kinds of desktops for $700.00 or less. The staff at the store I went to was extremely helpful yet, not pushy.
Here is a whole page under $600.00:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Desktop-computers/sem/rpsm/catOid/-12962/N/20012961+20012962+312962001/link/ref/rpem/ccd/categorylist.do
There are a few on this page too:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Desktop-computers/sem/rpsm/catOid/-12962/N/20012961+20012962+312962002/link/ref/rpem/ccd/categorylist.do
Good luck

Where can I find a desktop computer that is under 700 dollars?
Q. I'm looking for a new desktop computer. I would like to have a desktop computer that is at least under 700 dollars. I would like it to have an octo- core processor. If I can't find a desktop computer that has a octo- core processor within my budget then I would like to find a desktop computer that can be MAJORLY upgraded. I would also like to have a desktop computer that has at least 4g of RAM. Also I would like to have a good graphics card. If I can't get a good graphics card already with the computer then I will buy one separately. So if I could get a least of computers that fit this description that would be nice. Even if the computer is over 700 dollars you can still list it.

A. http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Mage_D415has 809
http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Mage_D295 930
the GPU is only 1GB, but very fast with atleast 1000 cores each, they both have AMD 8 core CPUs
this is enough for heavy gaming, the first one meets your specs perfectly,
the second one is improved, if your willing to pay extra
FYI the 8350 upgrade is free for a limited time

@ n/a, he wants a MODEL, stupid,

What is the best computer for video editing and playing games that under $700 I want a desktop! Thanks?

Q. Ok i want a computer for X-mas and i want it to edit video and play games, it has to be under $700 and it needs to have lots of space Thanks and ill pick a best answer.

A. Build your own, check out the AMD Phenom II X3 720 for about $120. It's a 2.8GHz tri-core processor that can easily be overclocked due to the unlocked multiplier.
Get 4GB of DDR3 RAM, you shouldn't really need any more than that.
Look for any motherboard really, you don't need anything fancy and can save some money here. Look at reliable brands like Asus, Gigabyte, ASRock, and anything with a really high user rating.
Get an HD4870 for about $150, it'll max out anything you could possibly want at 1680x1050 and run everything near-perfect at 1920x1080.
Finally, make sure to get a 550-600 watt power supply to run all this, preferably from somebody like Corsair or Antec to get the best quality/price deal (although OCZ is a good brand too, look for high ratings that aren't Rosewill or Sunbeam).
If you already have a monitor to hold you over for a while, wait for a bit on that to save money (critical here, otherwise your computer won't be as good).
If you're lucky, you'll also have a hard drive and an OS (check if it's retail or OEM, go to Control Panel-System and see if it says OEM under who it's registered to or if it has a bunch of numbers, OEM means you can't reuse it on a new motherboard).
If you have to get a new hard drive, go for 1TB, it'll last forever and give you the best bang for your buck.
If you need to get a new OS, it'll cost a bit more for the whole thing than $700, but it'll be worth it in the end (kick in some of your own money to help pay for it).

I have attached a Newegg.com wishlist (shop there) for a good build for you. It does not include an OS or a monitor. It's $630 before taxes and mail-in rebates, and $605 before taxes but after the rebates. If you want to upgrade due to the extra price room, simply change the processor to the AMD Phenom II X4 955 for an extra $45. When you eventually do buy a monitor, make sure it is 1920x1080 compatible, you can get them for $150 and they are about 22 inches.

Can somebody show me a good completely built computer on newegg?

Q. I need a computer that would play games like skyrim battlefield and arma2, it must be under $700 and it needs to be COMPLETE with operating system, graphics card, and a decent CPU.

A. Your best bet is a Fusion Vision-series APU(A10 is the best at a moderately priced 100), the graphics unit on that can hold you until you save up enough to get a real graphics card(A10 is unique in that it's GPU is both integrated and discrete, it's also a quad core).

Then get a GOOD motherboard, a GOOD power supply, and good RAM, RAM doesn't matter nearly as much as the other two, I'd reccomend 8GB of 1333MHz if you have a tight budget, or even 4/6GB if it's that tight. I see too many people over invest on GPU/Processor and just gimp everything else, not understanding it hurts them in the long run(bad motherboards severely limit expansion and bad power supplies can suddenly fail, causing permanent and irreversible damage to other components, there's even stories of them catching fire!

For motherboard get an ASRock Extreme/Professional series or for ASUS get either a P8277/Formula IV AM3+, they're all around 125-200 dollars but their future proof value is invaluable.

For Power supply get at least 650W certified to at least bronze level, such as an Antec EarthGreen, etc.

When you do get enough money for a good GPU get an ASUS 7770 GHz edition, at that price point AMD quite frankly beats out Nvidia, especially in specialized cards(GHz, Classified, etc).

Good luck!

What would be good gaming computer parts for under $700?
Q. Alright so I really would like to build my own gaming pc that can run amazing games at little to no lag for under $700. Does anyone have any ideas on what parts I should use (ps I already bought the DVD drive an I still need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse)? Thanks in advance.

A. Well for one thing, try to spend as much as possible of your 700 bucks on the core components: video card, processor, memory, motherboard and power supply. Get everything else as cheaply as you possibly can.

And by cheap I mean, get them for free if possible. Like for example if you've got an old computer, get them out of that.

Beyond that it's a matter of shopping. Just get everything at newegg.

I like to get all intel and nvidia stuff, but you might get a budget system going for less with amd. I'll let somebody else advise you on that.

Looking into building a Gaming computer. Could I have some suggestions and an estimated ballpark for price?

Q. I am looking into building a Gaming computer. Could I have some suggestions and an estimated ballpark for price? Just give me some links, and a price with PA sales tax (6% on the dollar) Please keep it under $700 but have it be able to work on the most current games please.

A. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yIa0
$714 after rebate delivered, unless you change the power supply to the CX600 to bring it to $700
Most should not collect tax and delivery should be shown at included
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
The core i3 is a gaming tier 2
Got the graphics up to HD 7850
The lower wattage CPU (55W) and moderate wattage graphics (130 watt) plus fans and drives allowing 60 watts, means 245 watts on 12V, and 30% buffer is 318 watt target or 26.5A on a single rail.
CX600 with 3 year warranty has 46A available
The XFX with 5 year warranty and solid state capacitors is 44A
It is possible to knock a few dollars off the motherboard using a B75 one.
An Intel build allows later upgrade into an i5.
The Phenom I saw in the other build is power hungry and has no better gaming than the i3.
I chose a decent computer case, but there are others with at least 2 fans (intake+exhaust) and USB 3.0 and 2.0 on the front panel and is spacious inside.

This is the laptop i have and i runs very well i have portal team fortress 2 borderlands cod 4 and medal of honor and world of warcraft all with zero lag but i have to keep it on medium and sometimes low graphics but it still runs very well

What's a good list of computer components for a budget gaming pc?
Q. I need help picking out parts for a desktop gaming computer that won't break the bank. Budget wise, I want to stay under 700 or 800 dollars. I kind of want to run graphically intense games like Skyrim on decent settings. I also want a fast processor to do all of this. If anyone who is an "expert or good" with this kind of stuff I would really appreciate tips about the subject. If possible could i have a list of parts/components to work with and instructions to build... thanks

A. This is what I could come up for you. What you could do initially is spend a bit more on the core specs of the system and temporarily use the integrated graphics (which really is not made for gaming) on the CPU then you could upgrade to a better graphics card later (That's what I did). So if you can wait longer to game on it then that would be your best bet.

Also alot of these have mail-in-rebates so you can save money as long as you buy them before they expire, and then there are promo codes but newegg will only allow 1 promo per order. With Windows 7 64-bit OEM it might be a bit over budget initially maybe as much as 20$ after promo minus the rebates if you catch those. If you decide to do this you need to download the PDF's for the rebates before then expire which can be found on the item page. here are the instructions...

#1 Click on where it says "after mail-in rebate card"
#2 Click "print rebate" (you need adobe acrobat reader)
#3 Either print (printer icon) ,and, or save (the floppy disk icon) the pdf file to your documents folder
