can you help me build a laptop online?

Q. i want to buy a laptop on the dell website the laptop im interested in is the inspiron 1420 i want to customize it to run fast,to have alot of memory and thats about it can anyone help?

A. If you have the money, I'd go with the following configuration:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 (fastest front side bus)
4 GB RAM (hopefully it's at least PC5300 RAM with a 667mhz frontside bus)
160GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
DVD+/-RW with Dual Layer DVD+R write capacity
Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini Card

Vista is a bit of a resource hog, so I'd definitely recommend upgrading the RAM or seeing if you can downgrade to XP. The faster hard drive will definitely help too, that's generally the slowest part of any computer system.

If you're a gamer, you'll want the Nvdia graphics card as well.

But....I must agree with some of the previous posts...Dell does have a tendency to suck for support.

1. If anything breaks, it could be difficult getting replacement parts since Dell generally doesn't deal with third party retailers.

2. Even getting accessories like spare power adapters and batteries is a giant pain in the arse. (And believe me I deal with this all the time, I work in a computer shop)

3. Customer support can be a pain as well, since many of their call centers are now located in India. Not that I have anything against that, but the reception can be spotty when calling overseas and this doesn't exactly create the best conditions for tech-support

So basically, if anything does go wrong, you have to deal directly with Dell.

Just get a Mac.

Can someone build me a computer?
Q. Hi, i'm trying to build a computer for around 300-425 dollars that will run low end PC games like Combat arms on low-med settings at 60 fps, and WoW on low at 30-60 FPS, these are my only requirements and i dont need a big hard drive either, only 250-500gb HD, thank you all in advance.

A. $ 400 roughly translates into 21000/- Indian rupees.
For 21000/- Indian rupees, here in India we could get the following configuration:

AMD FX6100 processor with a biostar motherboard.
GSkill 4GB DDR3 ram.
AMD radeon 6450 1GB DDR3 graphics.
monitor , power supply , cabinet, hard disk all your choice!!!
Cheers&Good luck!!
