My Keyboard is acting funny its typing number for the letter keys?

Q. All of the letter keys are typing numbers, the numbers increase by one every time i press a letter. my computer is not a laptop and the key board model number is KB5500W. and this only occurs when i am using an application for example a a online HW program or a video game. i have undated all drivers and triple check its locale please help.

A. It took me forever to find this answer. If you have Comcast's Constant Guard security suite installed, this could be the problem, and the solution. (Likewise for anyone else if holding down Fn or Fn+ Num Lock or Shift+ Num Lock does not work and you have this suite installed, no matter what type of computer you own.) I found the following at http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Security-and-Anti-Virus/Constant-Guard-Numeric-Keyboard-Problem/td-p/926185

LoPhat,

I think we're saying the same thing.

GuardedID will not allow any game that remaps the keyboard to work, you have to turn it off or un-install it.

Since CGSS doesn't have an option to turn it off you can uninstall CGSS which will get rid of GuardedID. However, you can turn off GuardedID in Windows 7 by doing the following:

Control Panel

- All Control Panel Items

- Administrative Tools

- System Configuration

System Configuration will open in a new window, go to the Startup tab and you should see two Startup Items:

- GID Desktop Application

- Constant Guard Protection Suite

Uncheck the GID Desktop Application box, you may also uncheck the CGPS box (The thing still runs on my system though and shows up in the system tray)

Restart and GID (GuardedID) will not load. Your games should run fine, but you do not recieve the protection from GuardedID since it is not running.

Hope this helps.

How much will it cost me to build a gaming computer for Guild Wars 2?
Q. At the moment all im using is a laptop , which , to be honest is quite crappy , i want be able to play one game in particular which will be the one i play 99% of the time , and that is Guild Wars 2 , right now on my laptop i have to run everything on minimum settings and i get the bones of 10-20 fps at most , it drops to around 4-6 when im in a crowded area or a big animation takes place , and its really starting it irritate me now , realistically what i want is a computer that can run all maximum settings and get me around 25-40 fps , i would be quite content with that P.S im not talking about a gaming laptop , ill have around 1200-1800 euro to spend on the system itself , excluding the monitor , mouse , keyboard etc.. , and i was wondering what would be the best parts and how much would they cost to be running that specific game ?

A. This is my advice for your PC. Since this is the US price and i see you use euro, the prices may change depend on countries.
CPU: i7-3930k: less than $600
GPU: GTX 680 : less than $450
Mainboard: find a lga 2011 mainboard that costs less than $350
PSU: a 750W PSU: less than $250
SSD, HDD, mouse, keyboard, RAM,.... try to make them cost less than $500
Totally $2150 ~ 1640 Euro
Or if you can wait, wait for the Nvidia 700 Series.
