Computer Monitors?

Q. I have a computer that is about 4 years old (yes i need to buy a new one). I am an avid video gamer, but not on my PC, but on my Xbox 360. I was wondering if there are companies that make a high quality computer monitor that doubles as a Small HDTV. (Preferrably under 1000 dead presidents)

A. If you want a computer monitor that can double as a small HDTV, then you want to look for an LCD panel that has HDMI inputs.

Newegg has a KDS 26" LCD with HDMI at $419: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824155056

Dell is selling a Samsung 26" with HDMI for $685: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A1500995

Both do 1920x1200 resolution for your computer. Personally I'd go with the Samsung.

26" monitors seem to be your best bet.. I'd love to recommend a 30" for you, but those cost way over 1000 dead presidents (especially for the ones with HDMI) so that's probably out of the question. :-P

Connect xbox 360 to computer monitor and to a tv for gaming?
Q. I have my xbox hooked up to my computer monitor since i play FPS with KB/M setup thanks to the Xim3. I wanted to hook up the xbox also to a tv since i play alot of sports games with my friends and we sit around the couch. Can i have it hooked to both and alternate what screen I am going to use. Like for FPS sitting at my desk i use monitor than buddies come over for some NHL2011 I can just switch it to play on the 52 inch TV? Thanks

A. Of course you can. The XBox 360's HDMI port will work with either HDTVs or monitors equipped with HDMI.

The XBox 360 HDAV VGA cable will also work with HDTVs equipped with an VGA jack as well as all standard VGA-jack-equipped computer monitors.
