Can you build a gaming computer for under $600?

Q. I want to get a fast gaming computer that will run great on a lot of the games on high FPS. My budget is only about 600-700 dollars. Is it possible??

A. You can build a gaming of for under 500$ so don't stress about 700$ that's a price that you pay to have a company make it for you. I made mine for about 150 dollars by just upgrading an existing computer I had

Computers pre-built meant for gaming under 600$?
Q. I was planning on getting this: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/LAN_III_Mini-I, but I don't know what things to add to it. Are there any computers under 600$ that can run Far Cry 3 decently? I asked a question earlier about that computer, but I don't know if it's the best one to get or not, and I have no idea what to add to it. I have absolutely no idea, at all, no idea, how to build a computer, but if you can give me a link to the most exact tutorial in the world, I might be able to. Like, really exact, I have no idea at all how to build a computer, it seems like a very confusing thing. I'd need a link to all parts and everything and a tutorial with putting it together. If anyone has a link to a pre-built under 600$, that would be better.

A. For this, you'd likely want to build your own. It's truly quite easy and there are THOUSANDS of online tutorials to do it. Pre-build computers are usually WAAAAY overpriced. Alienware computers include.

So please, consider looking into selecting parts and building one yourself. You can even talk to people online who know things about computers who can help you select parts AND build it.

Best gaming computer under 600 dollars?
Q. It needs to be able to run minecraft over 125 fps, have fast internet, good memory, play other games great too, it doesn't matter whether it is a laptop or a desktop just as long as it meets my requirements.

A. If you want a killer gaming pc then increase your budget a bit, around $1000 will buy you a nice gaming pc which can run almost any game available at decent fps.

Following is config i would suggest(I own this config pc and i know it runs everything so good)

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core ($209.99)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660, GDDR 5, 2 GB, PCI 3 ($200)
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz ($66.98)
BenQ VA LED GW2255 21.5-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor ($130.77)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) ($66.24)
A compatible mother board and other things will cost around another 200$

And if you want to stick with 600$ budget then compromise on few things.
Intel Core i3-2120 Dual-Core Processor 3.3 GHz 3 MB Cache LGA 1155 ($122.37)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 650, GDDR 5, 1 GB, PCI 3 ($109.99$)
Corsair Vengeance 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz ($ 38)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600) ($66.24)
BenQ GL2055 20-Inch LED-lit Monitor ($89.99)
A compatible mother board and other things will cost around another 200$

Note: All prices are from Amazon, so it is possible you might get some parts for lower price from your local retailer.

Gaming computer under $2000.00?

Q. As you can see by the title, I am looking for a good gaming desktop. The reason I'm looking for a new computer is for playing games at good settings. For example a game called minecraft, I am sure many of you have heard of that game, when I play on it I get 12 fps on fast graphics, tiny render distance, and smooth lighting off yet I get so much lag. I am also thinking about recording minecraft videos and I was wondering if there are any desktops available under $2000.00.
Thanks, Nathan
Albert could you tell me your specs please? Thanks

A. Clearly , your current computer is underpowered , but minecraft isn't really that graphics intensive of a game, so $2000 is quite high, unless you want a computer that will play every game out there on the highest settings for years. I just built a new rig for $600 that handles minecraft like a pro, so I imagine anything around $600 to $700 with a discrete video card should do the job.

Good gaming desktop under 600$?
Q. id like it to play at least skyrim on medium graphics and it dose not have to but it would be nice if it came with a monitor and i can only go up to 650 $
thank you c man is it easy to install the graphics card

A. Since a monitor costs about $100 that means you can only spend $550 on the tower. In that price range, your best option is upgrading a low-cost starting computer with a better graphics card.

Any off-the-shelf computers in that price range will NOT come with a decent graphics card, just low-end cards or integrated graphics. Keep in mind that 70% of your overall performance in games depends upon the graphics card, not the CPU. So the most important component for a gaming computer is a good graphics card (even for Skyrim, which is more CPU-intensive than most titles)

So you could start with this:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+Desktop+-+6GB+Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive/5424595.p;jsessionid=4196E41D0281C6EB05A1D0FA460FA037.bbolsp-app05-46?id=1218644421363&skuId=5424595&st=gateway%20desktop&cp=1&lp=1

Then add this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161403

And you'd be fine for playing on medium or high settings.

The Radeon HD 7750 is the best graphics card you can install in off-the-shelf towers from Dell, HP, Gateway etc. Any better card requires upgrading your computer's power supply first.

And in Skyrim, the HD 7750 even outperforms slightly more expensive models like the Radoen HD 6770 and GeForce GTX 550 Ti.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/skyrim-performance-benchmark,3074-5.html

You could also build a computer from scratch, but that's probably slightly more expensive because Windows 7 alone costs $100.

Is it possible to get or build a top of the line gaming computer under 600 dollars?
Q. Is it even possible to make it sort of good under 600 dollars?

A. yes it is possible, just search over internet the prices of the parts & calculate them.
You cannot build a good gaming computer but you can make an average graphics computer which supports every game.
Just search over these parts:
2GB DDR2

What would be the best and cheapest parts for a gaming desktop?

Q. Apparently, I am not good with putting parts together, because the price for the things I've got listed is over 1000 dollars, and I have heard of people with amazing gaming desktops for less than 500.

I'm willing to spend between 600-1000. Under 600 or close to it would be optimal until I get a job.

What I have so far, is:

Monitor : LG - 24" Widescreen Flat-Panel LED Multifunction HDTV Monitor

Tower : Corsair - Obsidian Series 650D Mid-Tower Case

Power Supply : Corsair - Enthusiast Series 850-Watt ATX/EPS CPU Power Supply

CPU : Intel - Core™ i7-4770K 3.5GHz Processor

Ram : NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card

Fan : Corsair - Hydro Series H100i Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler

I don't know if that is all I need, but it turned out being extremely expensive.

My first question is, would this be a good gaming computer?

My second question is, is there a cheaper set up that would be just as good?

A. If your main purpose for your build is gaming, then I recommend getting the Intel 4670K instead of the 4770K, the reason why, is that there is almost no game on the market to date that totally takes advantage of Hyper-threading and in some cases it has been known that hyper-threading can actually drop your FPS in some games.

What I recommend doing with the extra $100 you would be spending on the 4770K and invest it in a better GPU, something on the lines of the GTX660ti or the GTX760. The GPU is were you will see the most improvement in gaming all together as games now a days are more GPU intense then they are CPU intense.

Other then that, very very nice build you have going. Also one other thing, if you want to throw a little more money towards a better GPU after saving the $100, you can get a PSU that has 600W and it will still be enough power to support everything you have. Now a days everything is about power saving not how much power you have like it was about 5 years ago. GPU's don't even use a ton of power like they use to.

Hope this helped you,

A. The only thing that would be able to play games adequately in that price range would be something with either an AMD A-8, or A-10 processor in it. Better brands for reliability are ASUS, Samsung, and Lenovo. Avoid anything made by Dell. Here are a few available from Best Buy to check out.

Asus - K Series 15.6" Laptop Model: K55N-BA8094C SKU: 6087209 $399.99

What do you recommend for a good gaming desktop for under 600$?

Q. Alrighty just looking for a good gaming desktop setup under 600$ to play WoW on without using all my money I got saved up. Best answer wins.

A. I see this question a lot. You can't buy a good gaming computer for that kind of money.
If you build it yourself you will save money. You don't say if you need a monitor and keyboard or whatever. Computer gaming is one of the most expensive hobbies I have ever had. I too would like a good gaming computer for $600.
I know this answer will not win best answer award, The truth is rarely popular.

Where can I find a cheap gaming laptop?
Q. I need to find a desktop computer that is made for computer gaming. IT HAS TO BE UNDER 600$. Preferably a good graphics card and 6 or 8Gb RAM Maybe even a 2TB hard drive.
I meant 1TB not 2
A desktop computer not laptop.

A. You have absolutely no chance AT ALL. You could try novatech.com they are pretty cheap but if you can find one like that. The world is a better place.

For a pc with 6GB RAM, a good graphics card and a 2TB harddrive your looking at like £900
