4gb (2x4gb) ddr3 1600mhz ram
Good branded motherboard to fit the socket type of your processor (ASUS OR Gigabyte)
GTX 550 ti graphics or Radeon HD 6790
Dvd drive
500gb hard drive 7200rpm with a 3gb/s interface
600w powersupply
Case with good airflow
Aftermarket cpu cooler

Good branded motherboard (ASUS or Gigabyte)
8gb (2x4gb) 1600mhz or 1866mhz ram
Radeon HD 6870 or GTX 560 (or the Radeon HD 6950 or the GTX 560 ti) graphics card
700w powersupply
Good case with good airflow
500gb - 1tb hard drive 7200rpm with a 6gb/s interface
Dvd or bluray drive
Aftermarket cpu cooler

You will also need an operating system Windows 7 64-Bit home premium ($100) or linux ($0)
Also make sure the powersupplies are at the minimum 80+ certified
You will also needa monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse.
Tower will cost $600 to $1000
The rest will cost $125-$400
All depends on what you buy

Is this a good desktop computer for gaming?
Q. Ok there's this Lenovo Gaming desktop I found on Ebay, refurbished, I really like the specs for the price but as a gamer we all know brand made gaming computers usually don't last as long as a custom built one, but can anyone take a look at the specs, the graphics card, GPU, clock speeds etc. and tell me if this computer is good for gaming, recording YouTube videos, livestreams etc. or should I invest my money on something else?

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=281100738716

PS: this will also be a computer for college, homework and stuff as well

A. it doesnt have a graphics card, it only has the intel integrated graphics.
If you want a good pre0built computer for the price, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227469 is almost unmatched.

It will run all games easily on med-high settings at 1920x1080.
Its one of the VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY (idk how much i can stress the fact on how EXTREME RARE this is in pre-built) that this actually comes with a decent case and power supply.

It has a corsair cx430 psu, which is more then enough for this set up, and its a decent quality psu that is 80+ bronze.
And it has an nzxt phantom 410 case, which is a pretty awesome case, though maybe alittle overboard for this price range computer.

and it even has a b75 motherboard, as opposed to h61 on alot of other prebuilt ones. though ofcourse its a really cheap motherboard ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157362 ), but a prebuilt coming with a good case, psu and motherboard is like non existent, until atleast $1500+ range and even then its still rare.

the best part about it, is the price. If you were to build this yourself, it would cost probably about the same, if not more. If you went crazy combo deal hunting and promo code hunting, and wanting for sales, ofcourse you would probably save like $50-75.

and with any prebuilt, you probably want to do a fresh install of windows, and also get the latest drivers from the motherboard manufacturers site. Also you may want to update the bios, as on prebuilt they often tend to use old outdated bios which cause alot of problems.

What is the best gaming desktop computer?

Q. I really do not care for the looks, i just want a computer that is very fast with a really good graphics card dual core processor or anything better, dual graphics card would be great and fast cooling to stop the lags from when computer overheats.
I really don't want an ok computer, i am looking for the best one but there are so many out there claiming to be the best.

A. The best gaming desktop computer would be any computer capable of running the most demanding games on the highest settings on whatever monitor (or monitors) you're playing them on.

The best video card is the GTX 590, which is basically two cards in one. AMD/ATI has their own version of the double card, the 6990. Both are around $700 for a typical version, and there are factory overclocked versions that cost more. However, almost any game will run well on the highest settings on several monitors with a GeForce GTX 580 or a Radeon HD 6970.

Most games can run on the highest settings (with the right video card) on i5-2400 or Phenom II X4. Only a few games out there, and only on the absolute highest settings on several monitors, will benefit from anything more - the i7-2600k. There are processors that are even faster but that's pointless for gaming.

If you want the ultimate future-proof gaming desktop, it should have the following:

i7-2600k processor (this will be good enough for years)

SLI or CrossFire support in the motherboard.

A single video card at first, as powerful as you can afford. Then you can add a second identical card later when it becomes necessary. If you start out with a 590 or a 6990 you'll want quad SLI or CrossFire support from the motherboard to add that second card.

A power supply that can handle the computer even after the second card is added. It should also be really efficient because efficient power supplies produce less ambient heat and at really high wattage a "leak" of 20% or more can really impact your electric bill. Power supplies over 1000 watts NEED to be more than 80% efficient at peak loads or it will blow the fuse - normal power outlets max out at 1200 watts. If you're going for mega overkill you might need to have an electrician come do some wiring so you can get more power than 1200 watts.

2x4Gb of RAM, which is more than enough right now and leaves 2 open slots for the future.

Currently, the top chipset for gaming with the i7-2600k is Z68.

Make sure the case is roomy, 2 powerful video cards will make a lot of heat.

Gaming desktop computer?
Q. i want to know what i would need to build a gaming DESKTOP computer under $700. i am really new to this kind of stuff. i am a console gamer, but i find it too easy and want more of a challenge. i know somewhat of the things i would need. such as a video card, motherboard, RAM, etc. but i am not sure what will give me the best performance for the money i am using. i will be looking to upgrade it later on in the future with faster and better performing things. but i really dont know what some of the things are used for. for example, what is the motherboard for, and why that one and not another. and if they are campatible with the other parts of the computer. also i want all performance, not really for the looks. so cheap affordable case would be nice that would last me a decent amount of time. ive also been doing research but there are a lot of mixed reviews about everything, and to a new guy like me, all these letters and numbers are confusing, so some explaination to some of the meanings of things that the parts have, would be very helpful, or if i could get a website where they give a good explaination about everything. i have read a few but they mostly just say what the item is and how much , but they dont explain how this could be better than any other part of the same price range and performance. i also will be mostly playing games such as battlefield, cod, halo (if it comes to pc), minecraft, runescape, skyrim etc. thank you so much, i am asking for a lot, i might as well ask if someone could build it for me. thanks!
also, i would even get the alienware x51, but i have a strong feeling that is might mostly be a rip off and not worth the money at all, all looks and no performance, but knowing if its any good would be great!

A. I checked Ironside. No bargain there.

A gaming computer is:
Case, Motherboard, Keyboard, Mouse, Power supply, CPU, Graphics card, cooling fans, DRAM, Operating system, Optical drive, HDD[s], audio output (speakers or headset), monitor/display or TV.
Gaming is mostly in the Graphics card.
Most show here:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php
and the CPU is on the first tab.
Gaming summary, is matching the nearest benchmarked card to this:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
$720 gets this:

$700 gets this:

AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz is a bit of a waste because it has more cores than gaming can use, but it is OK. If building your own, FX-4100 is good enough and then try to unlock and overclock.
HDD is 1TB SATA II - would prefer Sata III
Has a decent AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB
is a cheaper motherboard with Fast (10/100) ethernet instead of gigabit, 6 channel audio instead of 8.
The HD 7750 of the one costing $20 more is a lower grade graphics card. 5 channel audio and gigabit ethernet. I would get the $700 one first.

The Alienware X51 is next to impossible to upgrade because the case is too small.
The $700 and tax
2nd Generation Intel® Core i3-2120 (3M Cache, 3.3 GHz) is no better than the newegg CPUs and probably a little lower in actual gaming. 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 545 is much lower than the HD 7750, and that is lower than the HD 6850. HDD is still SATA II they throw in a $25 wireless card. and use a $15 power supply 240W External Power
It is a P.O.S.
Not as good as a $530 one at Newegg.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229285
A HD 6670 approximates GT 545
FX-4100 approximates Intel i3-2120
The PSU is better, includes a keyboard + mouse, and just a smaller HDD. The Alienware is worth $575 not $700
The HD 6670 is probably not strong enough for you. See the chart of gaming. It is about a GT 555M equal. You can build your own, but the $700 Cyberpower is made with about $650 worth of parts.
On Build your own, use HD 6850 or HD 6870 or HD 7770 or GTX 560 ti
Use an FX-4100 or i3-2120 or so
Find a decent 650Watt power supply
You pretty much match the $700 system with tweaking the numbers.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1018125
This kit at about $600 or so, is missing Windows 7 and only has the 128GB SSD, but is about right overall.
This one also
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1018122
needs windows 7 and eventually a second HDD but is about right.

gaming desktop computer?
Q. hello i currently have a dell inspiron 1525, its a fine computer but i bought it when i didnt know the smallest thing about computers so guess what my gaming computer has? ... the cheapest video card they sold. and go figure theres no way to upgrade it on a laptop right? but anyways it works fine so i dont want to buy another laptop, i feel a desktop would be a good choice for me. i was looking at alienware but the desktops.... waaaaay to much for me and i proably dont even need that much in there. im hopping to pay no more then around 1000 but i will go up to about 13 or 14. i need a desktop that will play games such as...

WoW
Prototype
Dragon age
etc

also i am getting into the "blender 3d software" and have noticed that my laptop(s) dont really make the cut. my inspiron running on vista is fine but whenever i try and render, it does it but leaves a black square when i close from the window and then crashes blender. o the other hand i have a laptop from my school that does fine when it comes to rendering and stuff, but it can barely play a video thats made in the "Preview" setting withc is the lowest it will go.

so basicly im lookin for 1000 or alittle more desktop that will play games on full settings. i dont need to be paying to play huge games like crisus or whatever it is on full settings. the main thing is running smoother at atleast mid settings. and then it being able to use blender efficiently and easily. o and if anyone knows if blender works good on 7 that would be great!

thx in advance =)

A. If you are still looking for this nice gaming computer than i think i might have a computer for you. I am selling a very nice gaming computer that is able to play crysis in high settings but yet only cost $700. This is the bes t bang for the buck if you ask me. So if your not going to be playing anything extreme like crysis and a bit lower end games than you know this computer will play your games without breaking a sweat. If you are a serious buyer than i am a serious seller. I can give you more info and details if you email me whenever you can. Please contact me if your interested.

What is the difference between a regular desktop and a gaming desktop computer?

Q. My family is looking to buy a better computer. I was looking on Amazon and gaming desktops are just about my prize range. But would you recommend buying a gaming computer for regular use and maybe some games? Or just stick with a regular computer? Thanks ( also, whats a decent gaming computer, best performance for the buck?)

A. Most games are GPU intensive, not CPU intensive.

The real difference between a desktop and a gaming computer is the GPU. A desktop will have a minimal GPU (just really to display and have visual effects), while a gaming computer will have a dedicated graphics card and higher performing parts.

My choice is that u should buy a gaming computer :)
Hope this helped :)

What is the best processor, mother board, video card, and etc.for computer gaming desktop?
Q. Im planning to put a computer gaming shop business. Please give me advice on whats the most affordable but best set up of computer I can assemble.please be specific.im really not a tech person.

A. It is all very budget dependent. Here is a nice $1000 part set if putting it together yourself, and be sure to watch youtube videos and work on a non-static flat big surface and wear gloves or ground yourself and never force things together.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zWjz
CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz 4 cores, 4 threads since gaming does not use hyperthreading nor more than 4 cores.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler - a good value for overclocking the CPU. It is tall, but very efficient and priced well.
Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard - supports overclocking, and has 2 slots of pciex16 to possibly add a second GPU in SLI at another time for crossfiring instead of replacing the graphics card as you would in a 1 slot system.
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 The right amount for gaming in the right speed for the CPU and is a good brand 1.5V with heat spreader in CAS 9
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - fairly reliable bulk storage in a good size of a terrabyte
Sandisk 64GB 2.5" Solid State Disk - to hold Windows and a few games for fast load and top performance. Can use half in partition for Intel RST/SRT HDD acceleration if preferred.
Video Card Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 2GB - Highly rated solid performer. I did not look up its status for SLI vs crossfire
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=548
Cooler Master Storm Enforcer ATX Mid Tower Case - Nice looking case with good air flow and roomy. Starts with only 2 fans as adequate, but could add a top fan. There are many good choices of cases. Has USB 2 and 3 and audio ports.
Rosewill Green 630W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Decent enough as a single rail (one +12V as preferred) with a 6 and 6+2 pcie connector set and since GTX 660 needs only one, should be enough for crossfire one day without changing it. 50A (600 watts) on 12V to power GPU, CPU, fans and disk drives. There are better and worse PSUs but this is surely at least adequate and more.
Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer - any DVDRW
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
gamers prefer Win 7
Still need keyboard, mouse, audio output (speakers/headphones), and a display

What is the best desktop computer for gaming?

Q. Okay, I need a desktop computer with a large screen, an excellent graphics card, and a lot of space. But I can't spend a lot of money. What would you say is a good gaming desktop that doesn't cost too much money?
(My budget would be no more than $800.)

A. Try this computer in the link below. It's pretty good for the money, includes Windows 7 unlike some recommended setups you may see here. You can upgrade video card and it will be a perfect gaming machine. Considering that Phenom X4 overclocks like crazy/

What is a good gaming desktop on a budget?
Q. I'm looking for a desktop computer to buy. Does anyone know any good gaming desktops? ( exact models) I am on a budget though. I want to spend no more than 600 but if its worth it ill go over please help! would appreciate if you could send links or provide detailed info on each model. I am not very tech savy so i just need to know how good the computer is and how the graphic card would work if i was playing WoW or guild wars 2. thanks!

A. If you don't want to build it yourself then this is a huge prebuilt bang for your gaming buck, I would sell the GeForce GTX 550 Ti and buy a GTX660Ti when it comes out, this is the best deal I can find that will be a future proofing solution for many years to come.

enjoy,

What are the best parts for the assembly of a good gaming desktop for about 500 - 550 dollars?

Q. I am looking into assembling a new gaming desktop because the Hewlett-Packard Windows XP Computer I currently have is about ten years old, and isn't very good with any games made after around 2004. I am looking for desktop which after assembly should be able to play 3D type games with reasonably good quality. Are there any suggestions?
I do not neccesarily need a monitor.
Are there any combinations of parts that include an operating system, such as Windows 7?

A. The problem with self-builds around that price is that Windows 7 by itself costs $100, which only leaves $450 to spend on hardware.

You'll get more bang/buck upgrading a low-cost starting tower with a better graphics card and power supply than starting from scratch, because cheap pre-built machines from major manufacturers like Dell & Gateway include the Windows OS for next to nothing, if you break down the cost of parts.

So I'd suggest taking this:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+Desktop+-+6GB+Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive/3152445.p?id=1218380507379&skuId=3152445&st=gateway%20desktop&cp=1&lp=1

Then adding this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102969

That combo comes to $560... it can play most current titles smoothly on high settings, and the really tough games will run fine on medium settings.

While adding these instead:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127664

That combo could play all current games smoothly on high settings, and many titles on ultra/maxed. Your total cost would be $635.

Obviously a bigger budget is better... in order to play games like Battlefield 3 and Metro 2033 on max settings you'd need a a Core i5 computer along with a $175-$200 graphics card, which is a whole different price category. But you can get acceptable performance for less.

Whats the price for a gaming desktop capable of playing all games for several years?
Q. Super games like Crysis not included, although they finally support cheaper computers. I want to have a decent gaming desktop (keyboard, mouse, and monitor included) that will play all games that are out now well, and won't need any hardware replacements for a few years.

Can you give me a price estimate?

A. around £1000 ($1500) probably more with a good moniter etc

this will mean all games play now well and will do for years to come

personally i keep my system on the edge

what i mean by this is i upgrade one peice of hardware a year on average not including a new hdd every now and again

a good base system is a quad or hex core with 4 gigs of ram this is because ram is relativly cheap and the requirments of games in terms of processors goes up very very slowly

then you can afford to replace the graphics card once every 12 - 18 months, this is what i do it guarantees that your system can max out all games. i run a 5770hd and can max out all my games, the is no need for a 5870hd, in about 3 months time i will upgrade to a 6770 hd then next year a 7770hd and so on

with tech advancing so quick this is the way to go its every 18months something revolutionary is done in the computing world.

plus with directx 12 etc that will undoubtedly be released in the next 18months you would have to upgrade graphics card to take advantage of it and so on

How can I improve Gaming Graphics speed on a laptop?

Q. Hi, I'm a YouTuber and I am running off a laptop. The lag on games really gets on my nerves and I was wondering if there is a way to improve gaming graphics (3D business and gaming graphics performance) on a laptop, and do NOT suggest that I buy a new computer because gaming desktops are out of my price range. Windows Experience Index says my Gaming Graphics are rated 3.3 and Graphics in general are rated 2.2. Thanks in advance, HmanWP.

A. Nothing you can do, since video cards on laptops are part of the motherboard and can not be replaced, and there are no slots to fit a second card to.

What are good gaming desktops, that are also moderately cheap?
Q. Could anyone please point me in the right direction as to what would be a good gaming desktop, that is also moderately cheap. (Price range of around $400-500 USD) I know next to nothing about computer specs, and whats good, and whats not. Any help would be appreciated.

A. For $500 a good gaming desktop is hard to find. Here is some I found with good reviews but you can't expect a great performance:

If you could afford $600 this one is good:

What is the best desktop computer for gaming?
Q. Okay, I need a desktop computer with a large screen, an excellent graphics card, and a lot of space. But I can't spend a lot of money. What would you say is a good gaming desktop that doesn't cost too much money?
(My budget would be no more than $800.)

A. Try this computer in the link below. It's pretty good for the money, includes Windows 7 unlike some recommended setups you may see here. You can upgrade video card and it will be a perfect gaming machine. Considering that Phenom X4 overclocks like crazy/

Is it safe to upload older computer games onto a new laptop?

Q. I have some old computer games from 8 years ago I used to play on a desktop, but would like to play it again. Is it ok for my new laptop to play them on it?

A. depending on the Operating System (OS) it won't let you run it even in compatibility mode.
if it's designed for XP you should be fine but, 2000 or earlier you may run into trouble playing it but, your in almost ZERO risk of damaging your computer.

if you do run into trouble I can probably help you get it playable anyway but, only way to find out is to install it and find out

How to play computer games without the disc?
Q. I have a Windows Vista desktop in my basement, that is used for a lot of computer games. But last week, I bought myself a netbook, that does not hase a CD/DVD drive. I already own games like Zoo Tycoon2 Sims2 and Roller Coaster Tycoon3, which i would like to play on my netbook, so i can take the games with me. Is there any way to do this legally, without having to download a bunch of different softwares?

A. Since i have roller coaster tycoon as well I know its annoying that you need a CD drive to play it. I don't really know of any legal way to do this.

I wish I could help you more because I know you just want to find a way to play the games you bought on this new computer, but you should not be following any advice to download files from torrent sites.

People sharing full or cracked versions of software this way is always illegal. When sites tell you they are legal they're talking about only themselves - the activity YOU do by downloading pirated or hacked software is still illegal. These sites commonly spread viruses and spyware so there is never a safe way to use them.
