Baby and Toddler Computer Games, Bad for Kids Just Like TV?

Q. There have been some advice not to expose babies and toddlers to TV because it affects their attention span. Are baby / toddler computer games potentially harmful in the same way too?

A. All I can say is my son watched the TV and played on The computer(leapster or educational games on the PC) from about 2 years and my daughter even younger because of seeing her brother doing it. my son is now 4 and is reading writing and doing simple maths. Most TV and computer games amid for the younger child are educational. As long as they are not doing it all day every day they will learn from it.
Just be careful what you pick out for them to watch or play, Ben ten for example would not be a good choice in my opinion!

should my computer run games smoothly on a 42" HD tv in 1080p?
Q. i wanted to know , should my computer be able to run games smoothly on a 42 inch flat screen tv
in 1080p HD? (games like Cod 6 or black ops , gta iv , dirt 2, WoW) pls give answer for each game if you think will be diff for each,
here are some of my specs:

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory:
4096MB RAM
Hard Drive:
660 GB Total
Video Card:
ATI Radeon HD 5770
Operating System:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard:
AsRock G965M-S Motherboard

thank you :).

A. The TV QUALITY MASTER the " smoothly ". because the display / image via TV.
42 inc FULL HD 1080P TV ?
42 inc 1080P LCD TV . standard models with only 60 HZ refresh rate is really bad for fast moving image because of " motion blur ". , any sports movies / games-fast action image can never be ' smoothly " .
http://www.lcdtvreviews.org.uk/articles/relevance-of-response-time-in-rendering-picture-quality/
42 inc high end 1080 P LCD TV with lower response time display panel / 120 HZ refresh rate helps to cover-hide away " motion blur ", is not totally cut it off , but make more " smoothly ". more comfortable to our eye.
42 inc Plasma is PREFECT in SMOOTH pictures and colour display . 100 % with out motion blur . due to 0.01 response time and 600 HZ refresh rate.
new Panasonic Plasma technology with out burn in / over heat issue. even long for still image / games . lower power consumptions and 60,000 hours life time.
Plasma also " cheapest " in $ .
42 inc LED TV ( LCD -LED BACK LIGHT ) , Those quality brand ,Samsung / Sony / LG / Sharp / Panasonic very close to Plasma SMOOTHLY , but cost much more in $ .
REMEMBER. you need quality TV if you take it as ' monitor ",

Does washing your eyes after visual activities damage your eyesight?

Q. For example, playing computer games/watching TV/reading books for hours then taking a bath immediately afterwards. Will it damage my eyesight?

A. Despite what your parents tell you, playing computer games, watching TV, and reading books will not cause permanent damage to your eyes.

Taking a bath afterwards will also not hurt your eyes.

If you close your eyes and wash your face, that won't hurt anything.

If you're trying to wash your eyeballs, that isn't a good idea, no matter what you were doing before, unless you splashed a chemical into your eyes that needs to be rinsed out.

Do you think playing computer games helps depression or does it cause obsessiveness?
Q. An ad on tv said computer games can relieve stress. Do you agree or do you think it may lead to other problems?

A. Computer games can relieve stress for some people and cause stress for others.

They do not cause depression and do not cause obsessiveness, although they can become the target of obsessions. People who have depression will have it regardless of the games they play. People who are obsessive will have obsessions, if not a game, then something else.

Games can be either good or bad for a person, not because of any property intrinsic to the games, but because of what the player brings to the game.

Is there any way you transfer cell phone videos to the computer?

Q. This is interesting. People will answer questions about computer games, TV, etc., but rarely answer any of my more important questions.
Heeeeeeellllp! I have a really funny video I want to put on YouTube!!!!!

A. u shud have gotten a cable with your fone. one side will a have plug which is compatible with ur fone and the other a USB. turn off your phone and plug it into the computer. then a menu will open. maybe 2 if you have a memory card. so 1 will contain the phone memory stuff and the oder the memory card! so select "open folder to view files" then just copy and paste videos or music or wateva! hope it works for u! :)

Are video games and computer games worse than watching tv?
Q. My parents hate that i like to play video games and computer games, but all they do is watch tv. Is there something that makes playing video games and computer games worse than watching tv? Help me out here.

A. Your parents telling you not to play video / computer games while they themselves watch TV non-stop is a classic case of "Do what I say not what I do."

If they have good reasons for why playing too many games is bad for you (which there likely are several) then those reasons should also apply to watching too much TV. It sounds like your parents could stand to watch less TV and you could stand to play fewer games.

I recommend reading or sports as possible healthier alternatives. :)

How long/often do you leave your electronics idle?

Q. I read one of the yahoo articles saying that leaving your computer idle overnight can cost up to 2 billion dollars. Is it a good idea to leave your computer/gaming console/TV/etc. on for a few hours? Or is it better to just close it and reopen it later?

A. > leaving your computer idle overnight can cost up to 2 billion dollars.

No. That is total for the country (maybe the world). They will NOT send you a bill for 2 billion $$$. ;-)

If you don't mind the long restart time, then shut it down. The SLEEP (idle) mode was created for people at work, while they walk away for meeting and such the computer can save MOST of the energy. But if they go to lunch or even overnight, it should be turned off.

The hibernate mode is a good compromise. It is actually like being completely OFF yet, it can restore all your open items when turned back on.

Good luck...
