How do I play PS2 on my computer monitor?

Q. So, I have a 19" widescreen computer monitor LCD and would like to play my PS2 on it. How would I go about doing so?

Any products that you might suggest? Thanks

A. I did this last year when I couldn't get hold of a TV for a while... Personally, I used http://xploder.net/ps2/products/161/Xploder-VGA-Adaptor-for-PS2-.htm - though, due to some issues with how the PS2 works, you aren't able to play all games. Also, if you go with that one, you'll need to buy http://www.xploder.net/products/148/Xploder-HDTV-Player.htm - which is the software to go with it. You'll need that to allow the PS2 to run at the resolutions that your monitor will support, as most monitors run on "HD" resolutions.

How do i connect my ps2 into my computers monitor? do i need to buy anything?

A. If you want to connect your PS2 directly to your monitor, I recommend the Component to VGA adapter sold at http://www.geekquipment.com/video-game-cables.html

It allows you to use your monitor just like a tv, as long as you have a VGA input on your monitor. I've used it with my Gamecube/PS2 and it's always worked pretty well for me.
