What part of a computer determines the graphics?

Q. I'm looking into getting a good gaming computer but when i'm looking at the information on the computer, I don't know what part determines how good the gaming will turn out like graphics/lag

please help :) also if anyone knows a good gaming laptop under $1000 i'd appreciate some suggestions

A. For a gaming computer, most of the money should go into the graphics card. The rest of the system should be "just enough" to support the graphics card.

For a real gaming computer though, it really needs to be custom made. There's no such thing as a "real" gaming computer from a store; even from Alienware which just overprices stuff to an unreasonable extent and pushes poor quality.

It would be best to recruit your local computer store to build it for you for a fee; they can suggest parts based on your budget. Just make sure you get it off of Amazon so you can get a refund if anything is broke or doesn't work.

Also important is to take each item that they recommend, look it up, and read the reviews of it yourself. Check for any known issues, GL.

What desktop computer should i buy thats under 1000 dollars?
Q. I am currently looking for a desktop computer should I buy that's under 1000 dollars? I need a computer for desktop publishing, emailing, editing and printing photos, downloading and watching movies, listening to music, watching tv and playing video games. What features and specifications do each have?
I also need a webcam

A. for everything but the video games, any cheap 500$ comp will do it all easily. depending on the games you want to play you should consider building your own computer. you can build one with great performance for much less money if you build one.
