Suggestions for a desktop configuration meant for photo editing.?

Q. I have a budget of US$ 400 for motherboard and processor. I need the computer for photo editing and processing. The system will run SuSE linux and Windows XP Pro and I need 4GB or higher RAM for the photo editing. No gaming is intended. I need suggestions for this.

A. Mine seems to work pretty well. I'm using a Dell Inspiration 530
Dual Core at about 2.8. Works fine for everything I do but I don't think you can get this for $400. You can order it with up to 4gm of Ram.

What would be the best murchandise to purchase if i was to build a mid-range pc for photo editing and cd burns
Q. I have been hired to reseach products for a new computer. The buyer is interested in probably a upper-mid-range system that would be good for photos, videos, editing, and minor gaming. They don't want anything really high end. I know what to look for in the high-end range, so i need a little help finding something mid-range. Any suggestions?

A. a PC with a foxconn g33m mother board , at least 2.4 ghz core 2 duo processor with supported fsb rate for the mother board , a 2 gb 667 kingston ram , a sony dvd writer , a 17 " viewsonic va1716w wide screen lcd , viewsonic or creative 5.1 speaker system , a dual hd sound card is onboard , and a vga is on board and a network port is onboard , buy a a4 tech key board and a optical mouse ... if u dont wanna use onboard vga try a nvidia 8500 gt 512 mb pci express graphic card which is cheap ... buy at least 80 gb hd with 7200 rpm ... a mid tower casing ...

if u create a machine out of these specs its the best for those work u have mentioned above ... by the way try windows vista ultimate 32 bit for maximum fun and tools ...
