Using the Window Vista, can I still run computer games designed for Windows 98 and XP?

Q. Using the Window Vista, can I still run computer games designed for Windows 98 and XP, or would I have to rebuy everything for the Vista?

Also, just a quick extra question, does anyone know a good laptop that uses XP that is fast, great memory size, and still under $900?

Thanks!

A. Vista has a cool feature called compatibility mode. You can right click the game, go to properties, and run it under older settings from up to windows 95.

As for the pc, check this link.

Is there anything I could do to reduce lag on my computer game?
Q. I have this computer game and I loaded an EXTREMELY heavy duty mod that is really fun, but lags an awful lot. Is there any way that I can stop it from lagging by buying a better processor or memory card or something?

A. Depends what your bottleneck is ... whether the lag is occuring due to not enough processing power, not enough RAM, too much read/write to a slow hard drive, or a bottlenecking graphics card all would need different solutions.
