Is this gaming computer a good customisation?

Q. Hello everyone! I'm buying a new gaming PC soon and was just wondering if this PC is capable of running games like Civilisation 5, Battlefield Heroes, Empire Total War etc with maxed out graphics without loosing performance. Customisation:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard: NEW! Asus M5A87
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 4GB)
Hard Drives: NEW! 1TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: NEW! NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Software: Norton Anti-Virus 2011
Case: Xigmatek Asgard
PSU: 500W Xigmatek

This would cost me £580 ($949) is this a good price? And if it isn't, any suggestions? Thanks guys!
My resolution that my new monitor will be is: 1920 x 1080

A. You could build that computer for $600. That price had better be for monitor and computer...

Would this computer run good games?
Q. Im considering buying this pc from a man on craigslist. (HP Pavilion Elite HPE-570f) http://compreviews.about.com/od/perfdesk/gr/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-570f.htm

He also added another 8gb of ram to it to total 16.

I offered him $625. I want to know if this would run current games. Im looking to run Arma3 and Arma2 for DayZ. Would this run games like skyrim, at what settings you think?? Im new to PC specs in general. Tell me what you think of the deal. hes giving me a keyboard, mouse, and a 250$ samsung monitor also. THANKS!

A. My experienced hardware opinion;
HP=cheap power supply, cheap motherboard, cheap computer case, mediocre DRAM
That particular PC, a slightly outdated 6 core AMD power hungry processor, but only 4 cores are used in gaming up to now.
The RAM is 1333 instead of 1600, never has heat spreaders, is limited to 1333 by the old CPU memory controller. 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB RAM in gaming should all run about the same.
The graphics card is a $67 one as HD 6770 at mid-entry level of gaming.
HP throws in a $15 wireless card and people think that makes it a better system.
It has a large slow HDD and bluray.

Check PC World customer surveys over the last 3 years. HP made a recent recovery from years of poor reliability, but that is a used PC from the weak years of reliability.
Here is 2011 to go with that PC:

The question is whether it is a monitor worth $250 now, or was $250 when purchased, and what are its specifications and age.

I would not put an HP above any other brand, so here is what you can get new instead of used near your price point.
$685 delivered:

Avatar Gaming FX77 No Screen Desktop PC AMD FX-Series FX-6100(3.3GHz) 8GB DDR3 1600 1TB 7200RPM SATA III HDD Capacity XFX brand AMD Radeon HD 7770 Windows 8 64-bit, 500W, 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply,

HP's favor:
The 1090T is better than FX-6100
The 16GB ram is more than 8GB
2TB is bigger than 1TB
Wireless card
TV Tuner card (not sure what it is for really)
Bluray combo drive.

Avatar's favor:
HD 7770 vs HD 6770
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/538?vs=536
HD 6770 is same performance as 5770
Better power supply
faster HDD
faster ram
nicer computer case with better cooling
new vs used
1 year warranty and customer support vs no warranty or customer support.

There are other pc's in the price range.

ARMA III should play at high settings. It is not a graphics demanding game.

Cost to build a new pc from parts like the HP but a little better in each area
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KcdS
$610 plus wireless card, sd card reader, mouse, keyboard
So built from parts is about $650 as new.
That is why I ask, what monitor details?
The pc value is 67% of new equivalent = $433
Should do Skyrim on high settings pushing ultra.

monitors.
This is a $250 monitor:

If that is like what you get new, it is a good deal.
