What desktop computer is recommended for light gaming and web surfing?

Q. I'm going to buy a new computer and would like to know if anyone can recommend a computer that has fast internet browsing and can handle light gaming such as Nexon games (Maplestory, Combat Arms), ijji (Soldier Front, other games), or maybe even Starcraft 2.

A. CUSTOM PC!

Look into building PCs for an hour, find a friend who knows something about the subject, and build away. You won't find any brand name desktops for light gaming.

What is the difference between the three versions of Windows 7?
Q. Im building a new computer for light gaming and personal use, and Im not sure why I would get a $500 version of Windows 7 ultimate as compared to $100 for home premium. So is there a reason to get a more expensive version in my case when all I'll be doing is some gaming and storing movies/pictures?

A. Well if you want to install Windows 7 just for home use and if all of the games you play are compatible with windows 7, the Home Premium edition should do the job.

I mentioned compatibility because Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate let you install ‘Windows XP Mode’ (available at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx ) which is a virtual Windows XP machine that lets you run XP-compatible programs even if they do not work with ‘Backward Compatibility’ (Refers to running a program not compatible with Windows 7 in a compatibility mode of an older version of windows. Works for most programs). You can open a program in this mode by right clicking its icon, clicking ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’ and following the wizard.

You can check all the differences at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/products/compare
