A. What you need:
-A dual core or quad core pentium or AMD (I like
AMD, but pentium is good too).
-2 gigs of DDR2 Ram
-Raided 10000 RPM hard drives. Size is up to you, but bigger is better for storage purposes. The RPM's are the important thing though, and RAID 0 bumps the speed to something fierce.
-NVidea 6800 ultra or better for a graphics card. A dual set up for card is nice, but not strictly necessary.
-450 watt power supply.
-Compatible motherboard (I like Asus better than Abit)
-A 1600-2400 Dpi mouse (noticeable difference there)
-A light-up keyboard so you can play in the dark.
-Soundblaster Audigy w/ speakers & subwoofer.
-Lian Li (or other) case
-Enough fans to keep that SOB cool
You'll be able to play FEAR, Oblivion, Crysis or Far Cry 2 at full optimization AND run a virus scan in the background. No joke man.

Edit: And definitely go with a lower GHZ dual/quad core over a higher GHZ singlecore. The dual thread architecture is superior in every way, game manufacturers are starting to exploit that.

Looking for good but average price computer for games, programs and a lot more?
Q. I am looking for a good computer with an average price, I am wanting to buy a full computer instead of building one myself if I need to buy some upgrades I will. I want to be able to play computer games such as minecraft, grand theft auto, call of duty, etc. I will also record videos from my Xbox on there and I want to record with no lag. I will also be doing live streaming at 60fps and 1280x720 quality and with no lag. I will also download a lot of programs and do editing such at Photoshop, Sony Vegas, and the program I will use to record from my Xbox. I do understand this is a very expensive computer but I want what I can.
